I shook my head, taking his hand from my waist and kissing his calloused knuckles.

“I think I died and went to heaven. That was…better than I ever thought was possible.”

He huffed a small laugh, his breath warm against the back of my neck. I shifted slightly in his arms and I could still feel his cock inside me, going softer by the second.

“Should probably get cleaned up,” Crow murmured.

I snuggled deeper into his arms. I felt so heavy and limp that I doubted I could move, even if I wanted to.

“In a minute.”

Crow propped himself up on one elbow, cupped my chin in his hand, and tilted my face toward him. He kissed me, slow, tenderly, as if for the first time and the last time, all rolled into one.

“Your father is going to kill me,” he said. “You know that, right?”

I grimaced. “I really don’t want to talk about my dad at the moment. Let’s just sweep that under the rug to deal with it later.”

Crow slid his hand down my body, pulling my legs open. His cock finally slipped out of me and I whined at the emptiness he left behind. Taking the condom off and tossing it in the trash, Crow shifted onto his stomach, hitching my legs over his shoulders.

“I guess you’re in the mood for more of this,” he said, gazing up at me from between my thighs.

Before I could answer, he lowered his mouth and the slick heat of his tongue closed over my clit. I sighed, my fingers threading through his hair. Every stroke of his tongue felt lazy, languid. He stayed like that for a long time, teasing me back to the edge of my orgasm and leaving me there until I was gasping into the dark, please let me come.

When I finally fell over the edge, I clutched Crow’s hands, anchoring me in a storm of pleasure.

Chapter Seven

Crow

In the morning, the soft press of Dani’s lips between my bare shoulder blades woke me up. The sheets were pooled around my waist and I had my face buried in her pillow.

“I’m taking Amy and Hannah home,” Dani whispered. “I’ll be back in about twenty or thirty minutes.”

My eyes flew open and I pushed myself up.

“I’m coming with you.”

Dani smoothed my hair down with an affectionate little stroke, cradling the back of my head.

“I haven’t told Amy or Hannah about you spending the night,” she replied. “And I’m not ready for…this…us…to be made public yet. So…” Dani gave my shoulder a playful shove. “Stay where you are.”

I caught her wrist, my thumb brushing the delicate skin of her inner forearm.

“It’s a precaution, Dani. You won’t have to explain anything to your friends. They will never see me. But I’m not letting you go anywhere alone right now.”

Dani’s smile faded into a serious expression. I hated doing that to her - reminding her of the danger, putting her guard back up when I’d seen what she was like with her guard down last night. I kissed her palm and gave her hand a squeeze, hoping she might take some reassurance from it.

“I’ll be ready in three minutes, tops. Your friends won’t suspect a thing.”

Dani gave her head a skeptical tilt. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that. Amy is already giving me weird looks this morning.”

I didn’t want to let her go but she pulled away and left her room, closing the door behind her. I would have preferred to keep her in bed all day long, safe in my arms where nothing and no one could ever lay a finger on her.

After getting dressed and climbing out her window like a damn teenager, I jogged around the block to where I’d left my bike for the night. I followed Dani’s car at a discreet distance, keeping an eye out for trouble. The car I’d seen yesterday had no distinguishing characteristics, no identifying markers that would make it stand out if I saw it again today and that put me on edge.

Dani dropped off Amy first with a wave. They lingered longer than I would have liked, chatting.

“Come on, Dani, let’s go,” I mumbled under my breath.
