Luke releases my hands and I rush over to Wells. “I love you, always remember that,” I whisper in his ear.

He starts to choke up and have a coughing fit. “Please Snow, just kill me. You don’t want to let evil consume you. You are good and kind. Please, baby. Just let me go,” he croaks, with what little moisture he has left filling his eyes.

Luke moves up behind me. “You need to say the words, Silver. You need to say ‘I choose darkness.’”

I give Wells one more glance. I can do this for him. I take a deep breath. “I choose to save the men I love and let darkness consume my heart and soul,” I say in a loud, shaky scream. “Are you happy now, Luke?!”

He moves forward with an evil grin on his face.

A jolt of pain thrums through my chest, causing me to fall to my knees. A glow starts to show through my skin. I watch as my hair turns black, and my nails change to long, black points. I look up at Luke and he gasps.

“More beautiful than I imagined, my little devil.” Reaching for my arm, he pulls me to my feet and brings his lips down on mine. I squirm away but he just laughs and bites my lower lip until I bleed.

“You won’t fight me for long—once the transformation is complete, I will own you. Body, mind, and soul. You were always meant to be mine, Silver Forest. You can thank your dear old great-great-granny Elena for that.”

I push him away and look at him, confused. What does Elena have to do with this?

He waves his arm and an oval appears. It looks like a see-through door but thick, almost like jello.

“I am not going in there.” I pull away from him, but he grabs my arm in a tight grip.

“Relax, it’s just a portal. A door to my home.”

Suddenly, Donovan barges into the room, just as Luke steps into the portal.

“Princess? What’s going on?” he roars.

I give him a small smile, tears still streaming down my face. “I have to go, Donnie. Take care of him, please. I love you so much...”

He lunges forward to grab me but Luke has erected a strong barrier to keep us separated. He opens a floating door within the portal. I hesitate but take his hand.

Luke smirks. “You’re safe now, my little devil. Where you are meant to be.”

I follow him to the door and release his hand, glancing one more time over my shoulder at the guys behind the barrier. The guys who own my broken, blackening heart. All I can feel is grief and pain.

Jax is holding one side of Wells, Donovan the other. They are screaming and shouting for me, but I can only make out a few words. At least I know Wells will be safe now. Luke said he’d be okay…

I wipe away the tear running down my cheek. “I love you,” I mouth, but watch in horror as Wells collapses. Jax drops down to his side, checking his pulse, shaking him and screaming. He looks back at me with hatred and fear.

Luke grabs my hand and yanks me away to face the door. He knocks twice, then moves his finger in a figure eight pattern but it's sideways.

A room appears, full of candles and the overwhelming scent of fire and brimstone. The doors clash close and I jump. What have I done?I spin around to go back to my men, but the door disappears.

“Where are we?” I ask Luke quietly.

He leans down and presses his lips to mine. “We are in my domain now, my little devil.” I glance around in dismay. The one window in the corner shows a vista of blackened earth with magma rivers.

I’m in Hell? Just who is Professor Luke?

“Welcome home, Silver.”
