I clear my throat and nod.Maybe Gran was onto something all those years ago.“So you mentioned a journal. What’s that about?” I wonder if she’ll be open and honest with me, or try and hide it. I’m well aware of what’s in that journal, having read it myself.

She wipes her fingers with a napkin and sits back, thinking for a moment.

“It’s strange. Having someone's innermost personal thoughts in my grasp. I never even knew about my great-great-grandmother. I haven't read anything yet, and honestly, I may not tonight. I really am exhausted.” She pushes her chair back to stand, tossing her napkin in the trash and quickly rinsing her plate, before popping it in the dishwasher. “Thank you for the early dinner, it was delicious.”

I grab her hand and tug her down onto my lap. She gasps in surprise, but has a mischievous grin on her face.

“Wells, what are you doing?” she asks me but I’m too far gone, gazing into her metallic eyes. I snap out of it when she places her hands on my shoulders.

Giving her a flirty smirk, I shrug and say, “Haven’t you ever heard about kissing the cook, to thank him?” I don’t give her time to react, pressing my lips against hers until she gives in. Kissing her will never get old. I reach around and tangle my fingers in her hair, pulling her closer to me.

She moans into my mouth, but pulls away. Her face is flushed, and lips swollen from my kiss. Standing with a shake in her legs, she turns and places one light—I guess you could call it sweet—peck against my lips.

“Night, Wells,” she whispers, then turns the corner, leaving me needy and aching in the kitchen.

I move to follow but my phone vibrates. I take a quick glance at it.

Donovan: Arrow said we can hit the spot tonight.

Fuck yes. I’ve been itchy all day. This is the longest we’ve gone not using our powers. Can’t wait till Silver knows and she can join in on the fun. I’d like to have some other fun with her right now, but the guys are waiting, so I send a thumbs up and grab my shoes.

I take one more look back at the hallway—she left her door open. I bite my fist to hide my moan. If that's not an invitation, I don’t know what is. Shit! I guess playtime will have to wait.Raincheck, Snow...I walk to the door and head out into the dusk.
