He places my shopping into the saddlebag next to all the weird Halloween stuff, while I slide my helmet on. I climb up behind him, wrapping my arms tight around his waist. Lifting one of my hands, he kisses it lightly before starting the bike up and taking off.

We only ride for a few minutes before arriving at a cafe, but I don’t want to get off. One of these days, we need to go for a long drive.

Taking my hand, Jax leads me to a cute little outdoor patio and pulls out my chair. I take a glance around. We seem to be the only ones out here.

“I thought this would give us more privacy to chat, but if you want to sit inside we can?”

I sit, and give him a smile. “No, this is great.”

As soon as he's seated, a waitress comes bustling out with a menu and a basket of donut holes.Yum.

“Hey Arrow, just you today?” She looks around, I’m assuming for the other guys.

“Yep. I just took Silver here to get some stuff at Target. How are you, Jela?” he answers.

She looks my way, giving me a beaming smile. “So you’re the Silver everyone is talking about.”

Jax has a coughing fit, cutting her off.

“Oh dear, my mouth again...”

Before I can ask what she means, Jax blows something in my face, making me woozy. I close my eyes and hold my head. Then suddenly, I’m fine.

“Silver, are you okay? You look pale,” Jax says lightly, running his finger over my chin.

“That feels nice,” I sigh and he chuckles.

Shit! Did I say that aloud?

A waitress comes bustling over with a menu and a basket of donut holes.Yum.

“Hey Arrow, just you today?” She looks around nervously.

“Yep, I took Silver here to get some things at Target. How are you, Jela?” he answers.

She looks my way and gives me a shaky smile. She's pretty, mid-thirties with short brown hair cut just below her chin. Looks a tad familiar. I’m sure I’ve seen her before, but I can’t work out where. Déjà vu is a weird feeling.

“Oh you know, the usual. My shift ends in about an hour. Looking forward to a book and bubble bath,” she says.My kinda woman. “Do you know what you would like?”

I haven't had a chance to look at the menu—it’s still in her hands. She seems nervous and distracted.

“Do you have apple cider? If so, I’ll take that with some caramel please.”

She nods and leaves, not writing anything down.

I follow her with my eyes. “She never got your order?” I query and Jax laughs.

“I come here a lot. She knows what I want.”

Oh okay, that makes sense.

“So you said we would talk at the coffee shop. We're at the coffee shop,” I say with a wink.

He looks around dramatically, places his hand on his chest and gasps, “Oh my god, we like totally are.”

I bust out laughing. He is so lucky I haven't gotten my drink yet, because he would be wearing it. I giggle for a few more moments and he gives me his signature grin.

“First off, I need to say—I know about you and Wells, which I already mentioned. What I didn’t say before is that I’m totally fine with it. We’ve shared in the past with no issues, and I know Don likes you as well.”
