She stops walking and tugs my hand. Looking down at her clothes, her nose scrunches and she sighs in defeat.

“That sounds like a good plan, but I don’t have anything dressy to wear. Really, I’m fine. Maybe we can all go out this weekend?”

I don’t know shit about dresses, but I know someone who does and they’re about the same size as Silver. I kiss her forehead and push her toward the kitchen door.

“Give me an hour—go take a long bath and relax. I’ll take care of the rest.” She turns back and gives me a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you, Donnie.” She runs inside before I can correct her.

Calling me Donnie again! But I kinda don’t hate it anymore...

I take my phone out and call my sister Liza.

“No, Donovan, you are not cancelling on tonight. Dad is in a righteous mood and I will not be the bearer of bad news,” she answers.

“Chill Liz, I was actually calling because I need a favor and a pretty dress. Think you could help me out?”

She squeals down the phone and I cringe, moving it a good two or three inches away from my ear.

“You want me to go shopping? Oh my god, yes! Please get me out of this house. The kids are driving me nuts! Ray baby, watch the kids. I’ll be back!” she shouts to her husband. Next, I hear a door slam and a car start.

“I was thinking more along the lines of her just borrowing something, but sure, that works. Can you be here in an hour?”

She huffs. “An hour, really? Can’t it more be like two or three? I never get out these days,” she whines. I can tell she's pouting through the phone and I laugh.

“Drop the dress off in an hour, then go get your nails done or something. She's about the same size as you, has long dark red hair, and silver eyes. I’ll see you soon.” I hang up before she can argue any more. I still need to talk to the guys and make reservations. I walk inside to go find the guys with a huge smile on my face.

What are you doing to me, Silver Forest? I must be under some spell.
