“Please, baby. I’ll feed him, and clean up after him.”
I hear that little voice in my mind once more. “They act like I’m a mongrel. I can take care of myself.”
I shake my head and continue trying to seduce the sexy, brooding man in front of me. I place my lips on his neck, just below his chin, in the way I know he likes. His body slowly relaxes and I know I’m winning. I move up, flicking my tongue over his earlobe and he groans, grabbing my hips tightly and moving his lips to mine in a hard, passionate kiss.
Winner winner, chicken dinner.I smile into his mouth and he sighs, pushing me away and running a hand through his hair.
“Fine!”
I open my mouth to thank him but he stops me. “I don’t want to see, smell, or hear that thing, and if I find one stray cat hair on my clothes, it's gone. Do you hear me, Snow?”
I jump into his arms, peppering his face and neck with kisses.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I pull away and lift my cat from Jax’s arms, snuggling him once more.
“Yeah, yeah. Now I need to go take a cold shower,” Wells mutters before walking away, leaving his sandwich. I walk over and pick it up, removing some of the lunch meat for the cat.
“We need to name him,” I muse, after he licks my fingers clean, making me giggle.
“How about Lucky?” Jax suggests.
I hear a scoff from the hallway. “Lucifer! You should name that thing Lucifer, because cats are just evil creatures,” Wells shouts.
I roll my eyes, looking down at the sweetest, harmless thing ever.
“How about Luc for short?” Jax says, coming up to stroke his head. I lean back against his chest and sigh.
“Yea, Luc works.” I reach down and kiss the cat’s little head. “Welcome home, Luc.”
