“The shit you bought is horrible, and I don’t mind you smelling like me.”

Wow, that was actually kind of sweet.I give him a smile and finish washing my hair, then hop out and let him do his thing. I walk back to my room to get dressed. As I pass Wells’ room, it occurs to me that I haven't seen or heard a peep from him since the other day, when he put my heart through a meat grinder.

I move over to my closet and see Luc passed out on my clean clothes pile. I bend over and pet him, but he jumps and hisses.Well okay then.I carefully shift him aside and grab my maxi dress from the pile.

“I guess I’ll just leave you be, Mr. Cranky Pants,” I mutter.

“I’ll show her cranky! Sick of being in this blasted form!”

I turn around and look at him, but he seems like he’s fast asleep. I think it’s time I talked to a professional.

I grab some underwear from my drawer, and quickly dress. I’m just putting some chapstick on when Donnie pops his head in.

“All set?” he asks and I nod, grabbing my phone and wallet, then taking his hand.

“So where are we going?” I ask. He gives me a wink, leading me to his SUV and opening the door for me. I climb in and put my seatbelt on.

“Well, you wanted a date, so I’m not telling you. It’s a surprise,” he says as he climbs in. I stick out my bottom lip and he chuckles. “It’s cute that you think sulking will work on me, Princess. All it does is make my hand twitchy.”

I sigh and rub my thighs together, remembering what his hand feels like when he’s twitchy. I bite my lip and look out the window as we pass through the gates.

I’m not sure how long we drive for since I get lost in the music and Donnie’s soft voice singing, but we soon pull up to a small, cute little bistro. He parks and walks over to open my door, offering me his hand. I take it and reach up to press a quick kiss to his lips. He smiles and walks us to the entrance of the restaurant. He holds the door for me and someone immediately appears with menus, as if waiting for us.

“Sir, Miss, your table is just this way. As you requested on the phone, I have a bottle of Moet on ice waiting for you. Your server tonight will be Jeni,” the man says smoothly, gesturing us politely to our seats.

Donnie pulls my seat out for me. I gently sit, and he pushes me in, leaning over to kiss my bare shoulder.

I wait until he takes his seat before I speak. “This place is nice. I would have dressed up more if I had known we would be coming here,” I say softly, not wanting to disrupt the mellow, relaxed ambiance.

He gives me a once over, before clearing his throat. “You look beautiful, Princess, as always. You could wear rags and still outshine everyone in the room.”

A blush starts to spread over my cheeks and I look down at the menu. “Thank you, Donnie.”

He chuckles and I raise my eyes back to his. “There’s something about you, Silver Forest. If anyone else ever called me Donnie, I would knock them out,” he says seriously.

I roll my eyes and wave his statement away. “I promise you, there is nothing out of the ordinary about me.” He laughs once more, this time loudly, and my eyes widen. “I’m serious!” I protest.

He leans over the table and kisses me, taking my bottom lip into his mouth and giving me a small nip. He pulls back and shakes his head. “You have no idea,” he mutters softly.

I give him a confused look, just as the waitress pops up.

“Hey, welcome to The Witches Brewhouse. My name is Jeni. What can I start you off with? If I could make a recommendation, the bacon-wrapped scallops are amazing.”

I cut her off, “He’s allergic to shellfish,” before returning to browse the menu. I don’t notice the quiet until I glance up to see Donnie looking at me, mouth gaping.Shit! I did it again.

“I’ll take the bruschetta please,” I mutter to the waitress.

Donnnie clears his throat and orders the reuben sliders. The waitress leaves and he tries to catch my eye, his expression puzzled. “How did you know I can’t have shellfish?”

I give him a shrug. “I think one of the guys mentioned it when I suggested shrimp tacos.”

He thinks it over, nodding.

Yeah, that sounds like a reasonable answer.

“I’m totally stealing one of those sliders by the way. You can have some of my bruschetta.” I give him a wink and he chuckles.

“Sounds good, Princess.”
