“I need you to grunt really loud, or we’re going to be busted,” I whisper and his eyes widen. I would laugh if I wasn’t trying to convince the person outside that I’m doing my job. I quickly get to my feet and grab the whip on the wall, then smack it against a leather chair. Nate tries to groan, but it’s more like a squeak of fright.

I roll my eyes, grab another toy, and move closer to him, trailing the soft flogger along his arm. If someone was to peek in here, it would look like I’m asserting my dominance as he holds still under me.

“Do you really hurt people for money?” he asks and I shake my head.

“You make it sound like I’m in the Mafia. No, I only cause pain to heighten their pleasure. Most newbies don’t order the silver package, Nate. You should have gone with bronze. You would have found yourself in a nice bedroom with a few toys, and plush surfaces. Not dark lighting, leather furniture, and chains everywhere.” I bite my lip and he groans, but nods.

“Next time I'll do that, but for now, can I just kiss you?”

“Nate,” I groan and he stands up, moving closer to me. I let him pull me into a hug, but kissing is too far. “We can’t,” I sigh and he holds me tighter.

“I refuse to stay away from you, Patience.” I push him back a bit and give him a smile.

“You could always keep watching me from the window.” His jaw drops and his cheeks pinken.

“Are you mad?” he mumbles and I laugh.

“No, Nate. I knew you were there. It’s not the first time I’ve been watched. I enjoy it.” He sputters and steps into my space again. This time, he grips my cheeks and pulls my mouth to his.

This is a really stupid idea, but I can’t fight it anymore. His lips on mine feel like they should have always been there. He feels like a past memory that I’m clinging to hold on to. He feels like mine.

A knock on the door pulls us apart and I’m panting. I blink for a minute and try to remember where I am.

“Lucky, you have another client in room eight. Gold package,” June shouts and I sigh. Nate looks at me with hunger and I wish we had time.

“I have to go, and you need to get home, but I’ll be back around one AM. Wait for me? I’ll see you through my window.” He nods, gives me one more kiss then leaves. I wait a few minutes, before heading toward my gold client. Tonight is just full of surprises.

When I get home,I’m exhausted and horny as hell. Usually, I would hit up Ki, but he didn’t text me back. He’s either sleeping, grading papers, or he’s mad that I left him. Either way, I’m pleased to walk into my room and find Nate’s light on. He’s in bed, reading in his boxers. His abs are on show, and I want to lick them.

I sit on the chair by my vanity and remove my boots, then walk into my bathroom and start the shower. I need to rinse off the sweat from working, and the sex from earlier with Ki. I quickly wash myself and dry off. I grab a robe from the hook on the back of the door and shuffle into my room. Nate is standing close to the window and I wink at him. His nostrils flare, and I wish he was here.

I have tried to keep us in the friend zone, but the way I feel about him, we were never meant to just be friends.

Chapter Twelve

School the next day is a nightmare, I’m exhausted and cranky. After torturing Nate, and trying to go to sleep, I kept thinking about everything that he said at the club. Maybe we could finally get some answers. Maybe then we wouldn’t have to hide our relationship. Maybe I would finally be able to have a public boyfriend. But then that made me sad because what about Ki? I love him, and I wouldn’t want to be without him. Would Nate and Ki share me? I mean, that would be a little weird, and it would take time to manage, but I'd be willing to try…

I pop a waffle in the toaster and grab some coffee in the Stonewall kitchen during my thirty-minute break. I have bio next and I’m going to need a pick-me-up. Cal is in the class, and he is becoming crueler as the days pass. I don’t get it. How can Nate want me, and Cal hate me?

I’m not supposed to have access to the kitchen, but the chef loves me. He was friends with my dad, and has become like an uncle to me.

Lisa, one of the dining attendants, walks into the room and scowls at me, but doesn’t say anything. She was already yelled at about trying to kick me out. I grab my snack and to-go cup and walk out. I flip my hair as I pass her and try not to laugh.

I spot Kian talking to someone in the hall by my next class and slow down, waiting for him to finish. When he sees me he gives me the look. I check my watch. I have a few minutes to spare. The girl leaves and he walks into his classroom, making sure to leave the door open for me. I walk casually into the room and follow him down the stairs and over to his office. When the door closes he presses me up against the wood, and I shiver as it brushes the bare skin on my shoulders. He breathes into my neck and I giggle.

“You have been a really bad girl,” he growls quietly. I shrug as he moves back, then take a sip of my coffee. Holding my waffle up to him, he rips a big bite off with a growl. I hand him my coffee and he finishes it.

“How was work?” he asks me and I groan, running my nails through my messy brown hair.

“Long, educational, confusing,” I say with a shrug. He takes a seat behind his desk and pats his lap. I shuffle closer and plop on the edge in front of him.

“Start talking,” he orders, while massaging my thighs through my skirt, teasing me. I wiggle, and his grip gets tighter. I sigh and give in.

“Well, soon as I left you and got to work, Nate was there. He was my first client of the night.” Kian lets me go and pushes his chair away from me. He looks pissed, but not at me. I climb off the desk and kneel in front of him. “All we did was talk, and kiss a little, but he mentioned some things that I can’t get out of my head.” I pause and purr when he grabs the back of my neck, rests my head on his lap, then starts to play with my hair.

“What did he say?” he asks softly and I relax.
