Before Cori can give the baby back, she pukes all over her, Cori is literally covered in barf and starts gagging herself. “I can’t. I can’t handle puke.” Jasper takes the baby back quickly and Cori quickly hunches over, and pukes everywhere.

Cori quickly excuses herself to go clean up and I look to Trevor who is grinning. “Well, that was some first meeting.”

“Yeah, she can’t handle vomit, makes her sick too.”

I shake my head, I’ve heard of people that have weak stomachs like that, but I’ve never seen it happen, until now.

Trevor throws an arm around my shoulders, “Come on, let's go see if there is anything left to do so we can just enjoy the rest of the day.” He gives me a kiss on my nose and we walk back inside the clubhouse.

As I’m talking with my aunt, Eden comes over and grabs my arm. “Come on, all the cool kids are over here.” She drags me over to the group and I smile again at Cori, and then I see the girl they call Melissa, and I feel dizzy.

“Everything okay?” Cori asks.

“H-how old are you?” I ask Melissa.

Her eyes widen slightly. “Twenty,” she answers hesitantly.

“Who is your father?” I whisper out haggardly.

“We don’t know who our father or fathers are,” Cori tells me.

I can’t take my eyes away from Melissa. “Do you … do you know a man named Carson Lewis?”

Melissa frowns, and she looks at her sister. “Sorry, but no.”

“Uh, Tori, hun, what’s going on?” Eden asks.

“She looks so much like him,” I croak out. She has his eye color, the shape of his eyes, his nose. My god, how many kids does Carson have that I don’t know about?

Eden’s body goes stiff, and Lilly’s face is now pale. Both girls are looking at Melissa in a whole new way now. Eden finally speaks up. “He’s what? Thirty-eight? You sure? Because that puts him at eighteen.”

“I-I gotta go,” I manage to squeak out and run off.

“Tori, what’s wrong?” Trevor pulls my arm to stop me as I make it into the clubhouse.

Trevor

“Tori, what’s wrong?” I call out in a panic, chasing after her inside the clubhouse.

“What the hell is wrong with me Trevor? How can I be so damn stupid?” she cries as I wrap my arms around her.

“Don’t say that, Tori, you’re not stupid, what’s going on?”

“It’s Melissa,” she whispers brokenly into my chest.

“What’s Melissa?”

“She’s … she’s Carson’s daughter.”

What the fuck? I would have noticed it if she was my niece. There’s no way. I look up and see our family photos on the walls of the clubhouse and really look at Melissa’s picture. I can’t believe I never saw it before. Melissa is my niece. How the fuck did I miss that one? After my talk with Angel, he tells me that Cori and Melly won’t say a word to Tori about who I am. Which makes me feel like shit that I haven’t told Tori yet. I need to tell her. Soon.

“I’m such a fool, how many damn kids does he have? I know about Emily, she was in my class, and I have no right to be upset about Melissa, she was born before I was with him, but now I’m just wondering how many are actually out there. Did I ever teach them before? Have I met their mothers and they laughed behind my back ‘cause I’m a fool?”

“Stop it. Carson is the fool. Not you. Never you.” I slam my lips down on hers, hoping to shut her up and get her mind off my dipshit brother. “I don’t think I can wait until we get home. Gonna take you to my room, Tori.”

She bites her lip and nods.
