“I love you Derek.” She says as she finds her own release again.
“Yeah, babe, I love you too. I love you so much.” I groan out as my release fills her body.
Chapter 34
Rylie
We lay panting inbed. Derek has made me feel so alive again. Even when times were good with Caleb and me, it was never as good as it is now.
After walking in on the scene in Derek’s office today, I really thought Derek and I were over. When I saw Elizabeth at my door, I wasn’t sure what to think. When she came in, she told me everything, all about Cecily’s plan, knowing I probably wouldn’t have given Derek a chance to explain.
I should have known. I remember hearing stories of both Layla and Nikki walking in on scenes that didn’t look right, but in the end it was all a misunderstanding.When it happens to you, though, you don’t think. You just react.
“Babe?” Derek says.
I look to him with a smile. “Yeah?”
“We need to talk about something else. I don’t want to ruin our moment, but it needs to be talked about.”
I frown. “Um. Ok.” I say hesitantly.
“Has Connor ever been around you when no one else was?”
Shit, I never wanted to tell him this, because I just brushed it off as nothing. “Um, a few times. It’s really no big deal.”
“Rylie, it is. There is something wrong with him. Mum left before Cecily explained everything, but she was with Connor tonight and said that she walked into a room that was filled with pictures and news articles about you.”
I stiffen. “What?” I choke out.
He pulls me closer to him. “I don’t know babe, but something is fucked up with Connor Roga. Cecily said the whole damn room was filled with shit about you.”
As soon as he says Connor’s name, I start to shake. “Did you say his last name isRoga?”
Derek nods. “Yeah.”
“Caleb’s grandparents on his mother side are Roga’s. “ I whisper.
Anger fills his eyes. “Connor’s parents are George and MarionRoga.”
I bury my face into his neck. “Caleb had an Uncle George. I never met him, but I heard Caleb and his Mum talk about him.”
He gives me a tight squeeze. “What about his kids?”
I shrug my shoulders. “I can’t remember. I never met them, but I know that George has a son. But, I don’t think it was Connor. Caleb had to go to the son’s wedding a few months before he put me in the hospital. Since Connors not married, it can’t be him.”
He nods his head. “Yeah, it can. Connor was married a few years back, but they got divorced last winter.”
I pull away from him. “I don’t understand. Why would Caleb’s cousin be watching me? I look like I would be the last person that he would want to know.”
“I don’tknow, babe, but I sure as hell am going to find out.”

I place a kiss on Rylie’s lips then crawl out of bed. I make my way quietly to the living room and grab my phone. I click Dad’s name and place it to my ear.
“Hello.” He says, in a sleep filled voice.
