Well then. If that’s hello, I never want to stop saying it.

Dagan clears his throat, looking uncomfortable. Biting my lip, I step away from Ryder, putting some distance between us. This is something they and I are all going to have to get used to. Sharing. Being shared.

“I’m starving, we’re off to get something to eat, want to join us?”

“Of course I do.” Ryder grins at me and follows us out of the study to the kitchens.

Walking in, I see a massive stove with two ovens and a double fridge next to an upright freezer. The island fills most of the room with plenty of counter space. This is every cooks’ wet dream kitchen. I could live in here if I was allowed.

I make quick work of finding bacon, bread, and cheese and start making sandwiches on the stove. “What’s this?” Dagan asks.

“Bacon and grilled cheese sandwiches, only way I’ll eat a grilled cheese. So good.”

I feed Dagan first as Ryder seems content to just watch me. “You’re right, this is good, I don’t think I’ll be able to eat plain grilled cheese ever again.”

“It tastes extra good because I make it with love.” I wink at him and turn back to the stove.

We finish eating and clean up so whoever Lilith has running the kitchen doesn’t have a freak attack when they come in, in the morning and head to the sitting room.

“Well, what’s the plan?”

Ryder frowns. “Plan?”

“Yeah, like what’s next, we’ve mated, now what?”

Dagan chuckles. “First thing in the morning I’m off, I have to head back south to get everything ready for a permanent move. Some of my people will follow me here so I have to also get housing in order for them.”

Frowning, “You’re leaving tomorrow?”

“Yes, that way I can get back to you quicker.”

I melt at his words. Sweet.

“I’m here and staying. I can conduct anything via the phone, my people will understand I don’t want to be away from my mate if I don’t have to, but I know shifters, they’ll want physical presence when they hear your news. I doubt Bolton will be happy about this.”

Dagan practically snorts. “You’d be right, I doubt he’ll be happy, but he’ll get over it or he’s out.”

We finish the night with more small talk, learning about each other before going to bed. Dagan kisses me at my door before going off to his own room, but Ryder stays. “You had time with him, now it’s my turn.”

He declares before picking me up and pinning me to the wall, his mouth on mine.
