Talking with Ravenis something new for me. Except for Karma I never shared any serious conversations with someone I’ve slept with.
“Sorry to interrupt but Miss Lilith would like Raven to join her in the study.” Simo, the house servant, comes and tells us.
Raven finished her plate an hour ago, full, gets up and smiles at him. “Thanks Simo. I’ll be there in just a moment.” She comes to me and leans down. “Thank you for a wonderful morning, I’m glad you taught me more about this world.” She gives me a kiss quickly and leaves. What I wanted was for Simo to leave so I could spread her out on this damn table.
The moment she leaves the second set of doors in the dining room open and in come Martha, my house servant, Karma, and her mate Waverly.
I knew they were coming I just didn’t think they’d be here so soon. “There you are, we got lost on the tour. Finally found this room though.” Karma says as Martha blushes.
I snort, knowing full well, Martha was probably waiting outside those doors while Karma and Waverly got it on in the first room they came across. “Well, where is this mate of yours, The Oracle didn’t say a whole lot when I talked to her, just demanded our presence.”
“She’s with Lilith now, going over how to be a Witch.”
Karma sucks in a breath, “So it’s true, your mate is the Queen.”
“Yes, but it’s more than that. She didn’t know. All of this was sort of sprung on her with no learning. She knows almost nothing of supernaturals, most especially Witches. Just what she’s heard in her day-to-day life. And I’m not her only mate.”
Karma pulls out a chair and pours herself a glass of blood. “Well yes, that’s assumed since she’s the Queen. She’s got to have at least four mates. I’m also assuming this is the reason she wanted the kings gathered.”
“Yes, all four of us are her mates. Only Dagan and I so far.”
Waverly looks between us, “That’s going to cause problems. Most of our people hate witches, hate being reigned by them but let it go because of Dagan, and now he’s going to be declaring his mate as a witch. You know that’s gonna go down like a bag of bricks.”
“I know, especially with his Second. He’s gonna shit himself, that I would love to see.” Karma giggles.
“What about me, I don’t quite understand the need for me here?”
“Well Martha, this is your new home, unless you want to be let go.” I raise a brow. “This is my new home base because of my mate. Also, because she used to be human and for some reason Lilith thought having you around would be good for her.”
Martha nods, “Okay, this is perfect. I’ll just go find someone that works here and get the lay of the land and what I can be doing for my part.”
“Just sit Martha. You’re dead on your feet, you’ve been travelling. All that stuff can be discussed tomorrow after you’ve had something to eat and a bed to sleep in.”
