Before any of them could react, Andrey Petrov pulled his gun and fired. Chaos erupted around them. Able to keep their heads during the drama, the Dark Sons were the first to react and several Russian men went down in the next round of gunfire. Ink was going to pull his own gun, but he saw Hawk collapse backward onto the cement and grabbed him instead. He dragged him out of the line of fire as Brothers closed in around them.

He got him behind a vehicle, then took the time to examine him. Hawk coughed and bucked. Ink lifted his shirt and was relieved to see that the bulletproof vest had done its job. Hawk gasped a few more times.

“Fuck, that hurt.” The man rolled to his knees and pushed Ink away as he caught his breath, then stood.

The Dark Sons were all behind cover now and the Russians were retreating down the street at top speed.

“Did anyone get Petrov?” Ink heard Hawk’s voice in front of them, as well as over their comms.

“No,” Sharp replied. “Glad you are okay. He ducked behind his men after shooting you and ran like a coward.”

“Can you ride?” Ink asked his president.

Hawk nodded. “Is there anyone too injured to ride?”

“Only minor injuries on our side. Our gear did its job.”

Hawk’s expression held its usual calm, but his eyes said that Ink didn’t want to dig too deep. “Everyone meet back at the Clubhouse.” Ink moved towards his bike and barely heard him mutter. “I have to make some phone calls.”

He couldn’t stop the question that came out of his mouth. “Do you think he was telling the truth about you having a daughter?”

Hawk’s eyes blazed as he glared at Ink. “I don’t know. But we’re at war. Keep your head in the fucking game.”

Ink nodded, got on his bike, and kicked it to life. He wasn’t dumb enough to push again. Hannibal’s voice came over his earpiece. “Jewel acquired and safe. On our way back to the Clubhouse.” Ink’s heart soared at the wonderful news.

“Understood,” Hawk’s response was curt. “Right behind you, I want all Brothers and their families pulled in. We’re going on full lockdown until we know what Petrov’s next step is.”

It was after one o’clock in the morning, but the night was nowhere near over for them. There were too many things to be done. So many things to prepare for, but nothing, not even facing Hawk’s wrath, would stop him from first making sure that their Jewel was all right with his own two eyes. Once they claimed her as their own, it wouldn’t matter what else was going on. They could and would face it together.

Chapter 32

Sometimes the path to forgiveness requires you to admit you were an idiot.

Jade

Jade sat up, her whole body trembling from a nightmare. She stared up at the ceiling, trying to clear the images from her brain. In her dream, instead of pushing some random man off the side of the tower, she looked down and saw Ink falling to his death. It was a miracle she had even fallen asleep last night with everything still going on. She had only gotten a quick check-in with Ink before both men had disappeared into war conferences. While the confirmation that he wasn’t hurt was nice, it hadn’t settled her nerves at all.

They’d set her up in her bedroom in the upstairs of the Clubhouse and told her they wouldn’t be able to be back for hours. Other families had been settling in as well, and they were getting ready for the long haul. Her men had asked her to stay put, and she would not argue after what the entire Club had done for her.

Exhaustion from the day must have overwhelmed her, because the minute she lay down on the bed, she’d been drawn into a nightmare. By the light streaming through the window, she could tell she had been asleep for a while.

“Everything’s going to be okay. Go back to sleep, darlin’.” She looked over to her left and her body relaxed. Ink’s sleep tousled hair was on the pillow next to hers. She looked to her other side and saw Hannibal’s dark gorgeous features relaxed, asleep on the pillow on her right. At some point, both men must have joined her in the bed.

Both men looked exhausted, even in sleep. Ink hadn’t even seemed to have woken up to whisper his comforting words. She lay back into the center of the bed, both men on their sides facing her. Their breath was warm on her shoulders and her body tingled to life.

They were so physically perfect it was painful to resist reaching out to touch them. Hannibal’s dark skin and large, bulky muscles were a contrast to Ink’s pale tone and sleek, defined form. They were a perfect complement to each other in all things. The intricate art on both of their bodies called out to be traced and studied. She should probably let them sleep.

It was light outside, and they were still completely out of it. Even her sitting up in bed hadn’t woken them, which meant they probably needed the sleep. But even with them bracketing her naked in the bed, she needed more. Needed the physical closeness of both of them, not only around her but inside her.

She needed to know they had forgiven her, and were giving her another chance. Unable to resist, she slipped her hands lightly down their bodies. The small muscle twitches that followed her touches made her smile. To reach their cocks, she had to slide down a little. Jade wrapped her hands around them in a gentle grip.

She kept her motions slow at first as she enjoyed the velvet soft skin in her hands. Hannibal woke before Ink and started thrusting into her hand. She tightened her grip, and both men woke with a groan. Their sexy smiles were like sunshine against her skin.

Hannibal thrust forward into her hand. “I think our little Jewel is trying to tell us something.”

Their hands moved almost as one and cupped her breasts. She groaned as each man rolled out of her grip and locked their lips around her nipples. The joint pulls on both of her breasts at once, caused liquid heat to gush out of her core. They increased their suction and soon she was scissoring her legs, trying to get friction on her clit as they teased her almost to the point of orgasm.

She didn’t know if coming from playing with her nipples alone was possible, but with these two, she didn’t doubt they would find a way, if given time. It was tempting, but she needed more from them than pleasure.
