Ink pulled out of her and rolled them so she was on her side, pinned between them with him as the big spoon behind her. “None of that. What were you thinking?” Ink spoke directly into her ear.

“I was just wondering,” she paused, not wanting to break the moment. But also needing to hold up her promises of not keeping secrets between them anymore. “If someday you might want to claim me for real.”

Hannibal’s frown made her smile, and she lifted her hand to smooth out the lines on his forehead that the expression created.

“What do you mean, for real?”

She shrugged and wished they would drop the whole topic. They wouldn’t, and she didn’t want to fight. “I mean, claiming me as your Old Lady. Is that something you might want to do someday?” Her voice was small. It was a silly dream. And she knew she had a long way to go to gain back their trust.

Becoming an official part of this bigger family who had come to her rescue last night was something she really wanted. She was willing to wait, but she wasn’t gonna hide what she wanted.

Ink snorted and rolled off the bed. He pulled on a pair of jeans without bothering with underwear. She sat up, concerned. “I’m sorry. We don’t have to talk about it. I didn’t mean to push you. You asked what I was thinking about and I told you. I know, I have a long way to go to gain back your trust.”

Hannibal rolled off the other side and copied Ink’s actions, slipping on his own jeans with haste. Were they both leaving her now? Had she been wrong about what she had felt? She reached out her hands in a pleading gesture, not knowing what she could possibly say or do to fix things.

Hannibal grabbed the sheet off of the bed and tackled her. She struggled as he wrapped her up in the fabric, not understanding what was going on. Ink joined in the struggle and between the two of them, they had her wrapped up in a cocoon of white sheet. Hannibal picked her up without a word.

His shoulder was hard against her stomach. “What are you doing?”

They were silent as they strode down the hall. She would have struggled, but they had managed to wrap her up so tight that even up and down movements were hard. All she could see was Hannibal’s ass, and an occasional glance at Ink. The big man strode down the hall with purpose.

She didn’t know if she should scream or cry. Were they going to dump her outside in only a sheet? When they hit the stairs, she got a good look at Ink and his smile and the mischief that lit his eyes confused her.

What the hell were they doing and why were they heading downstairs? They passed through the main room and she saw that there were people there. Feminine laughter filled the room as the two men walked through it, and Jade recognized Val’s musical laugh, but she couldn’t tell who else was there. Men wolf-whistled, and a few people clapped as they hauled her down a hallway.

Was this some strange form of punishment for betraying the Club? Hannibal knocked at a door. “Come in.” She recognized Hawk’s gruff voice.

The door behind her opened. Jade gasped as she slid down Hannibal’s body and she ended up facing Hawk, who sat behind a desk in some sort of office. Several men she recognized as the Officers of the Club were sitting in chairs around the room. Embarrassment overwhelmed her as she realized she was standing in a room full of men with a sheet wrapped around her like she was some sort of trapped butterfly trying to escape its cocoon.

Ink stepped up beside her. “Hey, Hawk, we just wanted to let you guys know that we love our Jewel and we’re claiming her and putting our patch on her back.”

“I love her too and want my patch on her back as well.” Hannibal grinned.

She was going to be their Old Lady? She looked back and forth between her men. “That’s how you tell me you love me for the first time?”

Hawk smiled, even if the expression didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Do you swear to be loyal to your men and the Club?”

It took her scattered brain a moment to understand he was talking to her. “Yes, I swear.”

“No more keeping secrets or hiding anything from them or the Club?”

“Yes, I swear.” She repeated, not sure of what else to say.

“All right. Good enough.”

The Officers in the room chuckled. Hannibal and Ink shouted, “Dark Sons for Life!”

All the men in the room, plus the men who apparently had followed them in the hallway, echoed her men’s proclamation.

“Dark Sons for Life!”

Epilogue

Up, Up and Away!

Hannibal strode into Jade’s gym, Ink at his side. The past month had been hectic. Small skirmishes with the Russians broke out whenever the assholes thought they would get away with it. Striking at the Dark Sons’ businesses in cowardly ways.

The security detail stationed at the door was one of the many precautions they were taking. Mixed in with his Dark Sons’ Brothers were professional bodyguards hired from Tek’s friend Kane’s company. They increased the number of guards whenever the Old Ladies were here. They didn’t want to scare the women, but there was no way any of them were taking chances with so many of them in one place.
