Maria just shook her head, like she was still in disbelief. I started to take off my shirt and put it in my locker. It was going to be good when we were playing together. I was thinking about how much different it was going to be. Soccer was our passion and it made us connected when we were so different in so many other ways.

Maria was short, whereas I was a half a foot taller than her. I was thin, she was muscled. She liked parties, and I liked arcades. None of it was a good set-up for a great friendship, besides the fact that we were both in love with soccer. It kept us going and gave us something to look forward to and do together.

I got the last of my clothes off and got into the shower. The button turned it on, and the cool water started to heat up. There were four other showerheads and Maria got under the one to my left and turned on the water.

“So, I am going to play in the game this Wednesday?”

I agreed and she smiled. She was so happy that the smile was contagious. She was going on about what she was going to wear and all I could do was laugh. Maria was mid-sentence and she stopped talking. I turned to ask her what was wrong, and she was covering herself up and looking ahead.

“What is wrong with you?

Dennis was standing there, about as shocked as Maria was.

“This is a girl’s locker room, Dennis. I think you would know that by the sign on the door.”

He was staring hard at me and I didn’t cover up. I actually turned the water off and asked him to hand me a towel.

“What?”

“The towel. Will you hand it to me and go wait in the other part? You’re freaking Maria out.”

“Yeah, okay.”

He had a slack look to his jaw and his eyes were hungry. I think it was the first time that he’d seen me this way, and by the expression on his face, he liked what he saw. A lot.

Dennis handed me a towel and I thanked him. He was still standing there, college stud, unsure what to say as I wrapped up in the towel. I walked out of the room and left them both staring back. Dennis was quick to walk behind me and I had to know why he was there. We didn’t see each other here on campus. It was irregular.

“So, what’s up, Dennis?”

“Huh?”

I turned around and he was still looking at me as if I was standing in front of him naked.

“Hello, you alright?”

“I’ve just never seen you like that…”

I waved him off. “From what I hear, you’ve seen it all. You came here for a reason, so spit it out. I got drinks with Maria to get to.”

“I, uh, I wanted to say I’m sorry in advance.”

He’s snapped out of it and I told him that he didn’t need to apologize. “It’s just some tits, Dennis, and I’m sure you’ve seen better and bigger.”

“Bigger, yeah.”

I started getting dressed and told him to turn around. “You’re freaking me out looking at me like that. Why don’t you turn around and give me a second?”

He stopped my hand on the towel. “No, for real, Kimberly. You need to listen to me. I need to tell you something.”

Dennis was serious and horny, all at the same time.

“Alright, what’s up?”

“Someone messed with your car, and I think I know who it was. I think it’s because of us eating lunch at the fountain.”

“Chelsea?”

He agreed and I just shrugged.

“What has she done this time?”
