I shook my head. She didn't believe that I would take advantage of the situation and have her tattooed something that I knew for sure she didn't like? Besides, I wouldn't disfigure her stunning body. After all, I planned to have it naked and in all its glory under me more often.

"Have a little more faith in my tattoo taste," I said rather cryptically, nodding to a building we had just passed. "That's where the guy we're visiting works."

Gia contorted her head to catch a glimpse of the studio, but was far too slow.

I parked the car, got out, and then waited for her to circle the car. For some unknown reason, I was excited. Not because of the tattoo, but because of the overall situation and the new nuances that had developed during the drive.

The idea of watching Gia get her first tattoo left me feeling mad with need. Especially when they tattooed the place that I had in mind.

The building in which the studio was located looked quite inconspicuous from the outside. A small sign above the front door showed what services were offered here. Besides tattooing, this was also a small piercing studio, and the co-owner sold her jewelry, if I remembered correctly.

I opened the door, but let Gia go first. I realized as soon as I entered now everyone knew of our presence. There were several tattoo artists and clients. All lifted their heads from their couches to see who had just entered the store.

Although there were many opaque colors in the studio's interior, everything was still quite bright so that the artists could work without worrying about not seeing what they were doing because of the predominantly dark colors.

We had two minutes to look around the store and take in the different aspects, and then Pazzo showed up. He came right up to me, greeted me with a pat on the back, and then cast a questioning glance at Gia.

Of course, I hadn't told him I would be accompanied. He had no problem with that, he just liked to know who was in his store.

"Gia is with me, don't worry. Both of us will get a tattoo."

"Partner tattoos?" he wanted to know. Part of his enthusiasm about my presence had evaporated.

"Of course not," I returned with an amused snort. "She'll decide what I'm going to get. In exchange, I get to choose a design for her and the location. "

"Sounds like a lot of fun," he grumbled. "Who's going to start?"

"Me," Gia cut in before I could volunteer to go first. "I hope you've given this some thought," she teased in my direction, causing me to nod with a smirk on my lips.

"You can be sure of that," I replied, nodding toward the partitioned room so that I could confer with Pazzo ahead of time.

After I told him my idea, he disappeared for a few minutes into another adjoining room, and when he returned, he was already presenting me with the design.

It was nothing big. Not flashy. And she would wear it in a place where it could still be covered up with a long-sleeved shirt if the situation called for it.

A little later, Pazzo asked Gia to come into the room and told her to sit down on the couch, where he had already adjusted the armrest so that she only had to rest her arm on it and he could take care of the rest.

Gia slid into her seat, made herself comfortable, and extended her arm with no one having to tell her. Part of me had wished to see her at least nervous.

A little fear in her eyes, or a hint of doubt on her features. Instead, she looked straight ahead almost stoically, waiting for Pazzo to begin his work.

"You keep your eyes on me," I demanded after finding a spot at the end of the bench and watching the preparation procedure with my arms crossed and my eyes wide with suspicion.

Her skin was cleaned, the blueprint applied and final adjustments made with a pen. Shortly after, the room filled with the sound of the tattoo machine's engine, even though Pazzo had not yet begun his work.

Gia looked at me with narrowed eyes. "I hope you made a wise decision."

"Are you doubting me again?"

She shook her head as if she couldn't believe hearing this argument from me, of all people. "That would suit you."

"I'm starting now," the tattoo artist announced, interrupting our conversation.

Seconds later he made the first move, but Gia's face remained blank. It didn't seem as if the new stimulus overwhelmed or even disturbed her. She just sat there, holding my gaze with hers and letting the procedure wash over her.

I also did not dare to take my eyes off her, so as not to miss even the slightest movement.

At one point she pursed her lips, but that was all the reaction I could discern. "I thought it would be worse," she informed me later on.
