Regardless, Earnshaw turns heads and rumour has it he has won many a heart—male and female—on set. It won’t surprise you then to know that Earnshaw’s current flame, Isabella Linton—model and sister of awarded director, Edgar Linton—has been visiting the set and giving anyone who gets a little too friendly with her leading man a look best described as daggers.

Speaking of insecurity, lead actress, Trinity Bailey, is said to be counting lines to ensure she has enough screen time. Insider sources say Bailey’s insecurity reared its head when director, Ramirez—known for allowing his actors plenty of freedom—had been heavily instructing her on the tension he wanted for his early scenes. Our sources say the tension between director and star is not transferring to film.

Add to this, a dramatic soliloquy written for Bailey was reworked by Ramirez and given to Earnshaw, who Ramirez was heard to say would carry it better. We hear from our insiders that the writer and Trinity Bailey were less than impressed, but let’s not forget it is Ramirez’s film.

The film is based on the true story of an artist who loses interest in his muse and believes killing her will release his creative juices again. His muse goes missing but his last painting captures her death and is considered his best work ever. But is it enough to charge him with murder or is the subject of his painting from his imagination?

Let’s just hope they all get through the filming process alive and art doesn’t imitate life!

PART 3

Six months later …

Chapter 25 – The red carpet

The church was filled with friends and family, the groom looked gorgeous and I cried as you would expect. My co-star, aka ‘movie brother’, walked down the aisle with his beautiful bride on his arm and we threw confetti and cheered. I had managed to marry my ‘brother’ off and in the final scene of the movie, at his wedding reception, my cousin revealed he couldn’t find the right woman. The camera zoomed in on my expression –challenge accepted!

‘Cut and that’s a wrap,’ the director yelled.

The last day of filming was always a mix of feelings. The excitement that it was done after all the lines learnt, the early starts, the victories and tantrums (there are usually a few) and a sadness that this cast and crew who had been together day in and day out for months would now disband, and even if you worked with them again on another film or stage play, it would never be the same dynamic.

It was great getting the Romcom and a terrific contrast to the drama of the crack whore, not to mention fun to play something lighter. It would show versatility on my acting resume. Besides, my ‘brother’ in the movie played by Skip Bryant was the hottest of the hot. If everyone who followed him on social media saw the film, we’d have a hit on our hands!

The last six months were so full-on that I was getting addicted to change. Nelly had scored one of the director’s assistant roles on a large action film being shot here in London, Lockwood had a one-year production contract with a London-based theatre company, Edgar and I were going strong and he was about to start shooting his next film … and Heath—I know, why am I thinking about Heath?—had finished shooting his film,The Meaning of Nothing, and was back on stage where he belonged.

He and his fiancée had moved in together in some trendy pad that she posted photos of all over her social media accounts. When she wasn’t strutting down the catwalk, she was taking selfies of herself in beautiful poses or draped over her fiancé.Whatever.They deserved each other; I know I sounded like a bitter and twisted ex … I was!

Nelly, Lockwood and I had moved into a bigger place together which was fantastic and even though we were all working, we managed to see each other in our comings and goings, and have at least one dinner a week and a few drinks or ten at our favourite pub. We were all in relationships – Nelly and Lockwood both had gorgeous guys and I had my gorgeous guy, Edgar. We never socialised together though … Edgar wouldn’t fit in with their guys – he was only three or four years older, but he was in a different headspace. We were 25 going on 20, he was 28 going on 38!

I saw Edgar in bed more than anywhere else – late at night and very early in the morning when I had sleepovers and before our schedules intervened. To say Edgar was pissed with Heath’s promising advance reviews for a movie that wasn’t his, was an understatement. He was still smarting that he was the first to offer Heath a role, and then Heath had taken up the opportunity with some other director. Suffice to say his name gets mentioned very little at our place; even Isabella has learnt not to update her brother on her fiancé’s activities.

Edgar was talking about moving in together since we’d been going out for nearly a year now, but I liked living with Nelly and Lockwood and they were good company for the many nights Edgar or I were working and couldn’t see each other.

As for me, my life was what every student at acting school dreamt of achieving, I guess. I just finished making my second film, I had an agent, and I was in an amazing relationship. For the first time just a week ago, I turned as a photographer called my name and snapped some pics of me walking back to the Tube station after filming. My first paparazzi – all one of them! It was exciting and a little scary too. Plus—wait for it—my agent sent me scripts to consider. I still had to audition but some producers wanted me without the audition process – OMG. Sure, they were probably parts you wouldn’t take but it was still flattering.

Edgar was absorbed in his next project and we had had the ‘talk’. We agreed it wouldn’t be good for either of us to do another film together so soon … just a credibility thing. I needed to be seen to be in demand by other producers and directors, and he needed to be unbiased and cast the best person for the role and not automatically put his fabulous girlfriend into a part – ha!

To make the cut-offs for the annual film awards, Edgar’s film, and mine too,Between Night and Day,was right at the start of the date range, and I noticed that the production company making Heath’s film had listed it for release in the last week of the cut-off. SoBetween Night and DayandThe Meaning of Nothingwere going to be competing in the same categories for the best drama, best screenplay, best actor and actresses, best-supporting actors, best lighting and so on. Imagine if Edgar, Heath and I were all nominated for awards. Freak me out!

But first, we had the opening night red carpet launch forBetween Night and Dayand Nelly and I couldn’t wait!
