Pregnancy made her a happy, emotional ball of energy on a good day, but today she was radiant. She’d always been my sister in a sense, however, now it would become official. Thomas too would be my family soon after their first child was born.

He’d gotten a ring on her finger a week before she surprised him with the pregnancy test.

We were all ecstatic for them and had dubbed ourselves the kiddo’s godparents.

We’d become closer over the years. The men played basketball together every Sunday afternoon while Emi and I cheered from the stands and caught up.

Brad and Erica had stayed away.

He never visited his brother in Pensacola, only seeing him at Thanksgiving when they both traveled to Daytona to visit their parents. Last I heard he was seeing some girl and was happy in New York.

However, Erica was a mystery no one cared to decipher. Good riddance.

“Who gives this woman away?”

Our entire family stood. “We do,” they said in unison, causing the officiant to chuckle.

We’d decided while down the wedding-planning rabbit hole—and with his father breaking his leg—that I’d walk myself down the aisle.

That everyone who wanted to say they approved of our union could stand with us on the beach.

“Then let’s get these two married. We are gathered here...”

Hunter squeezed my hand then, and I looked up. His gaze was tender yet seductive, and there was a hint of hunger in his slate-grey eyes.

“Seeing you in white...walking toward me…will be the biggest turn on. You’re mine, sweetheart, but that seals the deal. You’re joining your life with mine for eternity. There will never be an end to us. Not even in death.”

He’d said those words three nights ago when trying to get a peek at my wedding dress. I’d caught him with the garment bag on our bed and finger on the zipper.

Miles had no shame.

He didn’t care about tradition. He believed in us, and that was all that mattered.

“Forever,” he mouthed as a throat cleared.

“Forever is beautiful, son, but to make it official you need to say I do.”

“Busted,” Thomas coughed, which earned him an elbow from Emi and a laugh from our guests. “So violent.”

“Quit interrupting, doofus.” No one hushed the pregnant chick.

“We do, sir,” I interjected, trying to move this show along while Hunter looked entertained by it all. One hard squeeze to his pinky and he yelped, narrowed his eyes, and then nodded.

“I’ll need a verbal consent, Hunter. Can’t marry you if—”

“We do.” His glare turned into a smoldering gaze set on me. The intensity made me flush. “You can skip the rest, too. Not necessary.”

“And the rings? Can we exchange those?” Thank God this man had a sense of humor and wasn’t put off by my husband’s antics. On the contrary, he was barely holding in a laugh.

“As long as it’s quick,” Miles answered and then turned to look at Thomas. “Hand them over.”

“Bro, let the man—”

“Don’t test his patience, babe.” Emily nudged his side and then kissed his shoulder. The girl probably needed to pee and was trying to hurry this along.

Seeing her expression, Thomas practically tossed them at Hunter.

“My wedding is turning into a circus act,” I muttered low.
