Page 63 of Stolen Kisses

“And you love it.” Miles raised my hand to his lips and kissed my ring finger with so much tenderness. The same one that will wear his sign of possession for the rest of my life.

He slipped the cool band up my finger where it nestled against my engagement ring. It was a simple platinum band, the perfect complement to my ring, with our initials engraved inside.

“I love you, Miles.” Tears filled my eyes as I grabbed his ring. Hand shaking, I kissed the wide platinum band and placed it on his finger. Perfect fit.

His hand closed around mine and squeezed. I couldn’t stop looking at him through blurry eyes; this moment was everything.

Everyone around us disappeared. For the next few minutes, it was just us, God, and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore a few feet away.

Eternity was promised.

Love was shared.

Our union was blessed.

I didn’t know what else was said, but the words that stood out were being pronounced husband and wife.

I was Bailey Miles.

He was mine.

I didn’t wait for Hunter to kiss the bride. I raised onto the tip of my toes, fingers embedded in his hair, and kissed him with everything I had.

My Miles always thought that with a stolen kiss he’d taken my heart, but the truth was, it had always been his.

THE END.
