“She’s impossible,” he grunts back at me, displeased by my decision but I have little options.

“But do you think she’s a liar?” I divert back to my original question.

“I don’t see why she would lie, she knows the danger she’s in.”

“She will lie because of the danger she’s in. If the child doesn’t belong to my brother, she is of no value to us. Just the reason he was attacked,” I point out.

“It was risky to make up such a lie in the first place.” Sal makes a valid argument.

“All I need to know is that she’s safe with you for now.” I look at him.

“She’s safe with me,” he assures me, begrudgingly.

“Thank you.” I tap the back of his head, before heading back down the stairs to my car.

When I get back to my house and step into the living room, I’m greeted by the view of Evelyn’s ass lifted in the air. The tight-fitting Lycra she’s wearing makes me want to tear it off her body and put her into a position of my own.

“What are you doing?” I step up behind her, gripping her hips and forcing her onto me.

“Raoul, you shouldn’t sneak up on people.” She quickly spins around and swats my chest. “I was doing yoga.” She wraps her arms around my neck and kisses me on the lips.

“Well don’t let me interrupt.” I kiss her back, appreciating how hot she looks with her hair tied up and the tight crop top she’s wearing.

“How was your day?” she asks as if I do a normal nine to five. I wonder if she ever thinks about what I do while I’m not with her.

“Uneventful, yours?”

“I got to photograph LA’s next little darling, and I had lunch with Kendra.”

“I heard.” I decide to make no secret of the fact Ludo’s been keeping me updated today.

“I also picked up a job with one of Claude’s friends, he’s doing a swimwear shoot on Venice beach in a few weeks,” she adds, trying to sound enthusiastic, but I can tell something’s troubling her. We may have been apart for a long time but I know Evelyn Lane too well for her to keep secrets from me.

“What’s on your mind?” I ask, hoping she isn’t having second thoughts about this. It’s highly possible that a day, in reality, could have made her rethink our arrangement.

“Nothing, let me go grab a shower before dinner.” She kisses my cheek and goes to walk away, but I tug her back on to me.

“I’m taking us out for dinner tonight, my father hasn’t visited the restaurant he owns on the boulevard for a few months, he wants me to check everything is running smoothly.”

“A restaurant on the boulevard, that sounds very legitimate for a Burlusconi.”

“That’s the idea.” I spank her hard on her ass, and release her so she can go and get ready. Then I send a message off to my father, assuring him that I will deliver his message for him tonight.

It’s another half an hour before Evelyn comes down the stairs, taking my fucking breath away in the low-cut red dress she’s wearing. Her hair’s pinned up now and the sophisticated look she’s got going on makes me want to make a mess of her.

“Do you mind if I bring my camera? The boulevard at night has some great opportunities.” She pulls the camera she’s holding in her hand out from behind her back.

“Of course.” I smile back at her, wondering how the hell I’m ever going to survive letting her go.
