“You could help me out instead of mocking me,” I point out.
“I’m not mocking you. I think it’s sweet, and if you’re asking for advice, you're asking the wrong girl. It's not like Grimm ever took me on a date.”
“You were a sure thing, right?” I wink at her.
“Squealer, your eyes are so pretty I’ll bet your face would like to keep ‘em.” She flutters her eyelashes at me like a helpless damsel.
“My bad.” I shrug.
“Why don't you just be you? Take her out of town to a bar, grab a few drinks and take a long ride home. Chicks fucking love the bike.”
“I don’t know, I was thinking the fancy restaurant where Mark would have taken her would be better.”
“Whoa, who’s the hell’s Mark?” Rogue scrunches up her face.
“Mark’s the guy who ain’t taking her on a date,” I respond, and Rogue shakes her head before getting back on track.
“You want my advice…?” Rogue stands up from her chair, rounding the table to stand in front of me.
“Not really, but I have a feeling I’m gonna get it anyway, so shoot.”
“You really wanna impress this bitch?” Hiking her hot little ass on the table in front of me, she unbuttons the collar of my shirt and another two after. Exposing my tattooed chest. Her fingers slide through the front of my hair, and she roughs it up, making it fall over my forehead again.
“You should just be yourself… Well. Maybe not too much, but you get what I mean.” She leans back and smiles at me.
Grimm is one lucky asshole.
“Rogue!” I call after her as she makes her way to the door.
“Any chance I can borrow your car?” I ask. Going on a date is one thing, but I ain’t ever put a bitch on the back of my bike, and I ain't about to start that shit today.
“You gonna have sex in it?” Her head tips to one side.
“No.” I can’t make that a solid promise, but that ain’t what she needs to hear.
“Sure, keys are in the ignition.” She turns back around and breezes back out the door again.
I doubt myself on the whole drive over to Alex’s place. Me and her ain't done a lot of talking, and I’m guessing that's a big part of the whole date process. What are we actually gonna talk about? Whenever we’re together, the need to fuck always gets in the way of conversation. That’s even if we get that far. She’s gonna be mad as hell when she sees me.
Still, I wonder if a little part of her will be relieved. A guy like Mark would never be enough for Alex. She ain’t a rollover; give the dog a bone type. She needs a man who’ll challenge her. A man like fucking me, and the thought of that makes me laugh to myself.
I pull up outside her bungalow at eight sharp, and strut confidently up to her front door. I can't wait to see the look on her prissy little face when she sees that it’s me instead of him that's here to pick her up, and using my knuckles, I tap the door and wait for her to answer.
“Hey…” Her eyes double in size, and the smile drops off her face when she sees me. “What are you doing here?” she asks, poking her head out her door and looking up and down the street. I make sure she notices me checking her out head to toe. She’s damn fucking hot. Her hair loose, covering her shoulders, and her body looking fierce in that red dress that was hanging on her wardrobe last week.
“Slutty, good choice,” I nod, showing her I’m impressed.
“Can you make it quick? I’m getting picked up…” she raises her wrist to check her watch. “…any minute. What do you want?”
“Yeah, about that, Peterson sends his apologies. He ain’t gonna make it.”
“What do you mean he ain't gonna make it?” She immediately looks suspicious.
“Something came up,” I shrug, biting my lip at the same time. Alex’s pretty green eyes look so much bigger tonight, her lashes are darker and fuller. Maybe we should skip the date and just get down to business.
“And he sent you here to tell me that?” The way she crosses her arms over her chest tells me she ain't buying a thing I’m telling her.
“Well, I ain’t about to let a pretty lady get all dressed up with nowhere to go.” I grin, watching her face stretch in shock.
