It can’t be like this forever.

“They’ll get over it, Lakyn. Leave them be,” Reign says with a lifted brow.

My eyes lock with Archer, and I see him with narrowed eyes.

“Don’t be mad at me,” I whisper at him, and Reign squeezes my waist, pulling me tightly against him.

“Go ahead and have your moment with him, Lakyn. The time will come when you’re in our arms again, and we’ll be patching up the pieces after he breaks your heart,” he mumbles.

Kyler sighs, heading to the kitchen, and Creed can’t hold my stare.

As always, they tug me in four different directions, until my heart stretches, near breaking. They want me to be all of theirs, yet they can’t watch me fall in love. It pains them.

I would never win with them. Not with their love.

Reign gives me a nudge, and I turn toward the guys. “I love you guys,” I whisper.

Archer shoves off the couch, and I think he’s about to walk away, when he makes a beeline toward me, stopping once he gets in my face.

I stare at him, and he stares at me.

Suddenly, he leans down, pressing his lips to mine. My eyes widen, and Reign is quick to reach, releasing me as he grabs onto Archer’s shoulders, shoving him away from me.

“Archer,” he snaps. “Fuck off.”

Archer wipes his mouth, a cocky smirk sparkling in his eyes. “He’s going to have to kill me to keep me away from you.” With that, he walks away, shoving his hands into his pockets. A moment later, I hear the front door shut, and I know he’s left.

Creed chuckles, and Kyler shakes his head, both of them walking off.

I keep my eyes averted from Reign, my skin growing cold in fear of how he’ll react.

The heat of his body comes up next to mine, and then he steps in front of me, blocking off my view of the door.

I stare at his broad chest, and it’s so still I almost wonder if he’s breathing at all, but when I glance up at him, I see full lips that look lethal, and eyes that could bleed me dry.

“I didn’t know he was going to do that,” I whisper.

He narrows his eyes slightly, then leans forward, his arms wrapping around my waist. He grips me tightly, bending over and slamming my back against the coffee table that’s just been replaced from the last one they broke. His hand goes out, and he swipes everything aside, and I jolt as I hear glass crash against the floor.

“What are you doing?” I ask, stiffening in his arms. “Not here. They’ll see,” I groan.

He watches me with harsh, angry eyes. “Let them see. Give them a taste of what they can never have.”

I narrow my eyes. “You’re cruel,” I groan, pushing against him.

He pushes against me twice as hard. His fingers wrap around my ankles, and he slides his fingers up my bare legs. I’m still in my sleep shorts and sweatshirt. But now, I realize how ridiculous I look. Not only in my pajamas, but also stained with blood.

“I’m only cruel because you cause me to be this way, baby Lake.”

I grip his shirt right over his heart, feeling the thump through the fabric. “I’ve done nothing,” I whisper.

His hands slide up the outside of my thighs, his fingers possessive as they drag across my skin. “Not in here, Reign. It’s wrong.” I glance at the kitchen, my eyes widening when they lock with Kyler’s.

My fingers grip Reign’s cheek, and I make his eyes connect with mine. “Kyler is watching us,” I growl.

Reign chuckles, glancing up and looking into the kitchen.

“Might want to get out of here, bro. I know if roles were reversed, I’d want to kill you if I watched,” Reign says with an edge to his tone.
