Oh, fuck. We’re so screwed.

She nods, not concerned in the slightest. “Yeah, but he’s a real asshole.” She steps forward, her eyes narrowing as she stares at him. “I told him to fuck off once.”

A chuckle bursts from my chest. “What?” I bark.

She laughs, though she looks so fucking angry. “He asked me if the guys only protect us because we sleep with them.”

My jaw hangs open, and all I can do is stare at her.

“He also asked me if you had a special cunt and that’s why the guys won’t tell him the truth about what happened.”

I grind my teeth together, my eyes lifting to his dead ones.

Fucking asshole.

“Then your parents had a meeting with him, and he just suddenly stopped questioning us. It’s like your parents threatened them or something. I don’t know for sure, but all the sudden, the police and detectives just buried the entire case like it never existed in the first place. It just went… cold.”

The slasher’s words ring through my mind.

I kill because of you. I kill for you.

I look up at this man, wondering if he was killed for me, or because of me, or maybe a little bit of both.

The bathroom door opens, and Vienna instantly walks away from us. “I’m calling Creed. The guys need to help with this because I’m not fucking going to,” she grumbles, and then I hear the back door open quickly before slamming shut.

“Do we call the police?” Posie asks, having remained relatively silent beside me.

My body tightens. Another death around me. The police would surely find a way to pin this one on me.

My head whips back and forth. “No. Absolutely not. Calling the police is a terrible idea,” I clip.

“So, what? We’re just supposed to bury another body?” Posie asks, bending down to drop her bags. She lets out a humorless laugh. “That went so well the last time, right?” She brings her fingers to her hair, tugging on the strands. “Fuck, my dad is going to kill me.”

I reach out, squeezing her shoulder. “Your parents aren’t going to kill you, because they aren’t going to find out. We’ve got this covered. The guys will know what to do.”

She shakes her head, and I understand how she feels, because I feel the same. I don’t feel confident, but I can’t allow myself to worry.

If I worry, I’m going to make a mistake. If I make a mistake, then we’ll get caught.

And that can absolutely not happen. Not again.

“Eloise,” I snap, my hands waving in front of me. “That girl that was killed at the party. Remember her?”

She nods, looking confused. “That random? Yeah.” She narrows her eyes. “That was a little weird, wasn’t it?”

I nod. “Who was she? Do we know anything about her?”

She purses her lips before she turns to the stairs, sitting down on them. I can see her every few seconds, the body of the man swinging, blocking her from view. I walk to the wall, my spine sliding down until my butt hits the floor.

Looks like we’re hanging out with him until the guys get here. I have no fucking idea what else to do.

I look up at him, wondering how terrified he was before he died. Wondering if he pleaded for his life or fought back, being with law enforcement and all.

I wonder if he had a life to go back to, or if he’d been alone for a while.

I sigh.It smells like blood in here.

We sit in silence for minutes, until eventually, the rumble of the guys’ car sounds, followed by four doors slamming shut. The pounding of feet making their way up the stairs causes my heart to race, before the door flies open, Archer walking in, followed by Reign, Kyler, and lastly, Creed.
