I chew on my lip as the car rocks back and forth over broken branches on the lumpy pathway. The taillights of the Archer’s car in front of us shine as he brakes, glowing the inside of Eloise’s car a bright red.

The tension is thick in the air. Dense throughout the trees, weighing down the branches as a light fog covers the area. It’s cool outside, though the air is damp, the clouds hanging low in the sky. Tonight, only a sliver of the moon shines through the gray, thick clouds.

“There’re more cars here than usual,” Eloise says, turning her wheel around an exposed root. The car bounces, and I grip onto the headrest of her seat in front of me.

“There are,” I mumble, noticing how between every tree and inside every clearing there are cars lodged side by side, squeezed in to fit.

“The boat isn’t strong enough for all these people,” Posie mumbles.

I nod, knowing she’s right. There’s been too much rot over the years, damage from all the parties held there. There’s a large crowd tonight, larger than I’ve ever seen it on the abandoned ship.

It’s as if everyone has been anticipating a night to escape the curfew, flocking to the first dangerous party they could find.

We continue driving, and I’m almost hoping there isn’t going to be a spot to park when we get up to the front near the water, but of course, our usual spots are open.

Well, shit.

Eloise parks, and I glance out my window, my eyes connecting with Reign’s the moment he steps out of the car, his limbs folding out easily. A man that has too much power. He’s too in control of his body. My thighs clench together, hating the same power he has over me.

As if on autopilot, I hop out of the car, walking up to him until the tips of my shoes touch his. “Hey,” I whisper.

Tilting his head to the side, there’s a glint in his eyes. “Baby Lake.”

He leans forward, until his thighs graze mine, commanding, spread slightly, his arms flexing beneath his black Henley. He reaches out, his fingers brushing against my sides. I gasp as he looks me up and down, leaving a sizzling fire in his wake.

I’m wearing a pair of velvet flared pants with a skull crop tank top. It’s cold out, but being in Reign’s presence instantly heats my skin.

The feel of his bared fingers against my exposed sides leaves me weak in the knees, basking in his powerful energy. His fingers tighten as I lean into him, the low-cut tank showing the tops of my breasts.

“You seem to enjoy testing my patience, baby,” he murmurs.

My brow lifts. “Just doing what I want. I’ve been doing it my entire life.”

His hand lifts to the back of my neck, fingers clenching in my hair, messing it up as he pulls me toward him. My hands plant to his chest, and I curl my fingers into the rough fabric, inhaling his smoky, masculine scent. He turns his head, his nose brushing against my hair.

“You going to be a good girl tonight?” he rasps in my ear. I let out a shiver, my hands gripping his corded forearms.

“Lakyn.” Archer’s voice has my spine stiffening, and I straighten, glancing over my shoulder.

“Archer,” I murmur.

His eyes are heavy-lidded, and his hand snaps out, grabbing onto mine. He squeezes my fingers tightly, his eyes shifting behind me as he glances at Reign. He pulls me close, and by the way a smirk lifts Archer’s lifts, I can imagine Reign must be giving him a look of murder.

“He thinks I’m letting you go, but he’s a fool, because I won’t be letting you go that easily,” he murmurs into my ear.

I shiver, my hand going out, fingers wrapping around his arm. Digging my nails into his skin, I give him a warning of my own. “I’m not playing these games with you, Arch. I’m not a fucking toy.”

He leans back, smirking at me devilishly. “Of course not, baby, but you also aren’t someone to give up so easily.”

I can feel my nails shred his skin, and I hope for just a moment I draw blood. “I will literally kill all of you,” I growl, loud enough so Reign can hear as well.

A thick set of arms wraps around me from behind. “You could try,” Reign growls.

“Can you guys leave her alone for just one night?” Posie shouts, trying to wiggle her way to me. Creed makes his way to one side of me, Kyler on the other, until I’m caged in by the four guys who literally own my heart and soul. My breathing picks up, my arms brushing against the chests of Kyler and Creed, my eyes locking with Archer’s as Reign circles around my back, his fingers imprinting into the skin of my waist.

They smell so manly, smoky, woodsy, their scents surrounding me, each one slightly different from the next. I become trapped between them, four of the most dangerous, most attractive men I’ve ever met, and I momentarily wonder how I’m still standing on my feet.

And then there’s the masked man, who’s my dark, dirty secret.
