Rising, she grins. “I don’t blame you. Go have fun.”

That night, after I’ve washed up and brushed my teeth, I climb in bed. A few minutes later, there’s a knock at my door. “Come in.”

Jason walks in, closing the door behind him. He’s dressed in a pair of gray cut-off shorts and nothing else. He climbs onto my bed and slips beneath the covers. Then he pulls me to him, his legs entwining with mine. “I figure since we shared a bed at my apartment—and your parents didn’t kill me—it’s okay if we do it here. If I promise to be good, can I sleep in your room?”

I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. His warm skin is slightly damp from his shower, and he tastes like mint. “I would love that.”

He spoons me, wrapping me in the safe cocoon of his embrace.

“Jason, do you believe in love at first sight?”

His arms tighten around me. “I do.”

I place a kiss on his firm bicep, which is just inches from my mouth. “Me, too.”

He chuckles. “So, have you met your true love yet?”

“I have,” I say as I feel his lips in my hair.

“Yeah, me too.”
