“Fuck, you taste good,” he whispered as he kissed along my jawline. His lips once again caught mine as we kissed before I moved to nibble on his neck. “Hmm, Josie, c’mon.”

I froze.Who the fuck was Josie?

Scrambling off his lap, I fixed my top as I tried not to die of embarrassment. “It’s Iris,” I reminded him sharply. “This was a mistake.” I couldn’t look at him, but when I heard the soft snore, he had my full attention.

He was still asleep? Oh fuck me, I assaulted him in his sleep.

He kissed you first, I rationalised.While unconscious.Shit.

Who was Josie? He said he wasn’t married, but I never asked him if he had a girlfriend. Double shit.

He looked comfortable. I should leave him. We never needed to talk about this, because let’s face it, he wouldn’t know. Grim with determination, I lifted his feet off the floor, and swinging his legs, I laid him out on the couch, and then with no dignity left, I ran up the stairs to my room.

Brushing my teeth, I avoided looking at myself in the mirror. I kissed a guest.

While he was sleeping.

And he had a girlfriend.

Shaking my head, I undressed, and as I went to get in bed, I looked to the door. Biting my lip, I crept halfway down the stairs until I could see the couch and was able to make out the dark outline on the couch. Another soft snore, and I knew he was fine.

With heavy steps, I went to bed, leaving the door open in case he woke in the middle of the night and freaked out when he didn’t recognise anything.

Feeling slightly sorry for myself while I still struggled to accept that I had been so ready to kiss him back, I drifted off to sleep.

Tomorrow wouldn’t be awkward atall.

Waking up to the light in my bedroom wasn’t unusual in summer as I never shut the drapes, happy to wake up every morning to see the splendour outside my window.

What was unusual was the heavy arm draped over my waist and the head buried into the crook of my neck. Looking down, I saw the slightly golden skin and blond arm hair.

“Mark?” I hissed. Why was he in my bed? But like last night, he didn’t stir. Bucking against him, I froze when I felt him at my ass. He was hard? What the hell was wrong with him?

“Mark?” I insisted louder. “This is not okay!”

“Wha-what?” The arm tightened around me, and moving my leg out in front of me, I kicked back and heard him grunt. “Fuck, Iris, stop it.”

Well, he got the right name this morning. I scowled as I kicked him again, and the arm loosened. Leaping out of bed, I turned to glare at him.

Bewildered and dazed. There were other words I may have used, but they suited him the most as he blinked at me. With fascination, I watched as Mark realised where he was.

“Oh shit,” he yelled as he jumped up, and looking down, he saw he was only in his boxers and was sporting a healthy erection. “Fuck!” he hissed as he grabbed a pillow and covered himself.

“What are you even thinking?” I demanded angrily. “This is not okay!”

“No, it’s totally not. I’m so sorry.” Mark ran a hand through his hair in obvious distress. “I can explain.”

“Well, thank fuck for that. I’m waiting.”

“I sleepwalk.”

I had not been expecting that, and I felt some of the anger leave me. “What?”

“When I’m overtired, I sleepwalk.” He flushed scarlet. “I had a shit long day, and it caught up to me. I’m so sorry, Iris.”

He looked genuine. In fact, he looked mortified and miserable. “Sleepwalking?” I asked him.

“Yeah, lame, huh?” He didn’t look at me, and I felt bad for him.
