“We’ve known for some time that those who made it to the Residence were individuals who were thankfully chosen to be sacrificed by Alpha Nathan in the Shade Moon Pack. Sacrifices always occurred on days where the moon was either full or at a high enough peak to benefit any shifter, allowing them to be given Mother Moon’s mercy, no matter their shifter trait,” Fynn unexpectedly revealed.

The two of them lifted their heads enough for us to see their serious eyes that reflected how important this moment was.

“We may all be demons here, but some wish to pretend that this was their life for all eternity, while others reminisce on their pasts and their present situations. No matter the past or current present, being a member of Demon Valley has been the most exhilarating and liberating experience for the majority of them, and anyone who doesn’t see the saving grace you laid upon us with your merciful decision-making are blinded fools,” Felix declared.

“Now that we’re aware that you and Alpha Nathan are indeed one unit, it makes sense as to why all of us were chosen and sacrificed. We grasp that you’re truly a savior who helped us everlasting beings finally break free of the chaotic lives we lived prior to being sacrificed to the valley. You may not understand or feel just how grateful we are to follow you, Alpha Malifer, but let this moment be a reflection of our gratitude while our continued loyalty confirms that we’ll always be on your side no matter if it’s for good or evil,” Fynn concluded before they both glanced over to Lex.

“That loyalty includes our Luna as well,” they said in unison, which encouraged Lex’s smile as her eyes softened.

“You two always proved to be diamonds in a field of coal,” she admitted more to herself before she closed her eyes and whispered, “I may not speak for Alpha Malifer, for he has a mouth of his own and can express his emotions just fine, but myself and my Astra side enjoyed every bit of time with you two in the picture. I hope that what was revealed today doesn’t change either of you, but is a reminder that those above the surface didn’t have the time of day to see your potential, but Alpha Malifer and Alpha Nathan did. No matter the circumstances that led you here five years ago, I’m glad you two are willing to remain by my mate’s side.”

Her words were unexpected and were only further accentuated when she bowed her head just slightly—a sign of utmost respect from someone as powerful as her.

“Thank you for protecting him all this while. Who knows what trivial challenges are ahead of us, but know that I, my allies, and my empire will do what is needed to ensure your survival through all of this, and that is guaranteed.”

Never had I listened to someone’s words and experienced the clenching ache of my demon heart.

This woman once again left me in awe, and my wolf and demon were just as enthralled by her humbling brilliance. Despite the secrecy and reasoning for her own actions, this woman already proved to be a Luna who had the rooted intentions of seeing me rise.

I was sure she’d still attempt to do anything in her power to make us villains on the surface for our real enemies’ entertainment, but I knew better.

I could see clearly that this woman held a heart that carried much compassion for the beings of our world.

“Your gracious words are a blessing, Lady Heartwell,” they responded.

“Please. Just call me Lexi,” she encouraged and brushed her hand in a dismissing manner. “When you two call me such, it sounds like I’ve aged into a thousand-year-old purebred or something.”

Her cringe expression was priceless, especially with her new appearance, which was why Felix and Fynn chuckled at the sight.

“Ya, we’ll stick with Lexi. Can’t possibly train you with such formalities,” Felix suggested with a smirk.

“Train her? We’re still doing that?” Fynn questioned and looked frightened of the thought. “We’d die.”

“I think that would be rather entertaining for Lady Heartwell,” Wallas suggested. “We should schedule that.”

“I’d enjoy the pleasures of witnessing Lady Heartwell on the battlefield without holding back,” Gaia suggested with a haunting smile. “Though, one attack could probably annihilate the respawn rule. We’d have to inquire about the damage limit in shadow realms like these.”

“There’s a limit?!” Felix and Fynn gasped in utter horror while Lex chuckled like an evil mistress ready to expose all the secrets of her family heritage.

“Everything has a limit, but rest assured,” she suggested and grinned menacingly, “I can always have a talk with Mother Moon and request a bargain to revive you two if you end up perishing from my wrath. Though, I won’t deny it. I’ll probably revive you two to be my disciples just to steal you from Alpha Malifer.”

The scowl that formed on her face made her giggle further, which was clearly on purpose to grind my fucking gears.

“Never mind, never mind,” she hummed. “I was just joking.”

She was not joking.

Unraveling The Truth Part Two

Dangerous yet delightful. A worthy enemy to have on our side.

Iknew we were ranking her as a potential enemy, but would I survive having her on the opposite side of vengeance? She already had those I trusted the most wrapped around her finger. Any form of attempt to push her into fighting against me rather than with me would leave me on the end of her blade.

“VIVIVO!”

We looked to the corner to the voodoo fleet, and I was impressed by their patience this entire while. I had no doubt that Zasper and his voodoo gang were growing impatient about retrieving their new maiden, Momo, from Goldibitch’s clutches.
