“Man down! Man down!” he whined.

All I had to do was look to my left to confirm the move was made by Abyss, who now stood confidently next to me.

“He didn’t say shit,”he emphasized before he paid attention to me.“We need Juniper to drive your new ride with Axel to the East.”

“A diversion?” I offered, and I watched the two of them nod before Axel managed to get back.

“They’re expecting us to leave here on Asher’s bike. I’m positive Zed is expecting our departure and will watch our movements like a hawk until we enter the portal to East Syndicate,” Axel explained.

“So you want me to try to summon Juniper into human form like I did earlier with Phyx and Eira?” I concluded, wondering if I could do it.

I felt like it was possible, but I didn’t feel 100% positive I could manage it right now.

“Think you can do it?” Asher asked me as he inspected my face.

“Honestly, I’ll give it a shot.” There was nothing wrong with trying. “I just don’t feel as confident as I should be.”

“Need a boost?” Axel offered with a smirk, and was rewarded with a hand in his face from Asher, who stepped into my personal space and didn’t hesitate to hook an arm around me to press my body against his.

I was going to say something, but my lips became occupied with Asher’s as we shared an intense kiss that left my body tingling and hot.

He fought to keep me occupied, his lower half grounding against mine as his tongue entwined with mine. We moaned and got so lost in the kiss that Abyss had to clear his throat.

“Our enemy lurks in the halls,”he noted, which was enough to force Asher to break the empowering kiss.

Allowing me a minute to breathe, he looked to Abyss.

“Want to have some fun?”

“Only if you’re not going to go all psychotic and try to do something stupid in our absence,”he earnestly voiced.

“It won’t be long,” Asher assured him. “I need the twins.”

“How lovely.”Abyss already seemed annoyed with the mere mention of the brother duo.“I’m on it.”He paused to look at me before adding,“If he gets all angry and shit, slap him.”

“Good! Abuse his ass,” Axel added, but hid behind Abyss, who groaned.

“Don’t hide behind me, foolish counterpart.”

“Now, now. Don’t go insulting me. I know you enjoy my company more than Asher’s.”

“I don’t care about anyone’s company,” Abyss grumbled.

“You wouldn’t say that if Eira was here,” Axel sang before he was forced to avoid Abyss’s wrath as the wolf entity was now holding a massive scythe.

“Little wolf,” Axel hummed. “I need you.”

“WOOF WOOF!”Juniper didn’t even wait for me to command her to come to the surface — her body raced forward and crashed into the barrier in a blink.

Her silhouette of blue flames emerged before Axel — the coursing energy rising and pulsing with shockwaves of electricity before it began to solidify into a human shape.

I held my breath as I watched the flames finally dissipate and reveal a woman my exact height.

There she was, Juniper with her onyx complexion, black silky long strands, and a blue crown of flames and metallic silver hovering over her head.

Her twinkling eyes of blue shimmered to life at the sight of me before she was hugging me tightly.

"Mine!”she cheered and hugged me tightly.“Ma Bleu!”
