“Yes,” I agreed. I appreciated his concern.
“We’ll figure it out,” he declared with determination. “We’ll finally get our salvation and I think this will open the doors to creating that vision you wished to create.”
“You mean for the Shifter Institute or whatever?” I offered.
“Mhmm. Once you’re in power with the remaining High Council members, I think you’ll be able to change Shifter Syndicate for the better while working towards the rise of all the Shadowborns. You’ll start a new era!”
“That sounds pretty epic, honesty,” I confessed and smiled. “We just need to take down Zed and potentially the rest of the Mortem Council of Supernaturals if they truly intend on ruining the peace by creating more Dusks.”
“We simply need to prove Zed’s involvement,” Kenzo emphasized. “Tobias and I were talking about it the other day. If we can literally trap him in some way that reveals his identity to the public, the other members wouldn’t dare try to interfere or risk getting themselves caught in the crossfire. It’ll also give the High Council the privilege to keep an eye on the rest of the members which will force them to behave.”
“You’re right.” I could envision that. “What about that Asmo guy? The one who’s also creating Dusks or something?”
“I actually inquired about that with Azu and he said we shouldn’t worry about that,” Kenzo revealed. “Apparently Tainted Syndicate is on it.”
“We’ve never went there,” I acknowledged.
“Apparently it's similar to us but the division is a tad different. I think they’re not in the same predicament as us with our Syndicates going down under.”
“If our goal is to take out Zed only, this could be fast.”
“Fast and strategic if we play our cards right.”
“Then it’ll we’ll be able to finally focus on our own growth and just loving our men,” I teased.
“A few peaceful months of just training and sex? Delightful.”
“Wait.” Something clicked. “Did you and Tobias have sex?”
The way his cheeks blushed at my question had me squealing and shaking him wildly.
“SHUT THE FUCK UP! WHEN?! WHERE? OMG! Did the wedding set the mood? No wait, are you engaged yet? Where’s the ring?! OH! You two have to get a baby!”
“I love how you’re mind just spirals down this hole of possibilities when it comes to others,” he voiced with a playful grin. “When are YOU two having a baby? Hmm?”
“W-W-We’re not ready for that!” I stressed. “I mean…there’s so much more we need to do in this world and such and bringing in a child…I don’t know.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s an excuse,” Kenzo voiced. “What’s the real reason for your apprehension?”
I pouted my lips while taking a moment to think about it.
“I don’t know. I’m kinda scared to be a mom, maybe?” I confessed quietly as I shyly looked at him. “I can barely protect myself. How am I going to protect a child in this fucked-up world?”
“I think you’d do just fine,” Kenzo admitted as he reached out and gently stroked my head. “And you wouldn’t be alone. You’d have Alpha Asher’s overprotective ass.”
“If it was his way, I’d never leave the damn house,” I groaned. “We don’t even have a house! Like, no Pack House. There’s the Shadow Realm but I’m not sure I can have a baby there just yet. That would be…intriguing since it’s a realm kinda between life and death, but it’s nowhere near where Faerie is where they can bear life there. I don’t know why I’m literally just realizing we’re basically homeless!”
“Well…” Kenzo tried to think of something to counter that, but it clearly dawned on him too because he was stumped for words. “Shit. You’re actually right.”
“See!!!” I stressed. “We can’t even think of children when we’re homeless bums!”
"We’ll work on it,” he suggested. “Besides, if you’re joining the council, I’m sure they’ll provide a place for you to stay.”
“Hmmm. You may be right.” I pondered the possibilities. “Asher and I will share a room so I’m sure we’ll have a spare and you and Tobias can sleep there!”
“What about Cinder?”
“Oh fuck,” I cursed. “I forgot about Cinder and Theo. Um…”
