“Well, guess that confirms they won’t take our offer,” Alpha Cain began, which caught our attention as he turned to face Alpha Asher. “You should get to the East ASAP before more goons come over to try to kill your wife.”

I smirked at the title “wife,” and I bet Asher could feel my giddy happiness cause I swore I felt like he wanted to roll his eyes at how happy I was.

“Do you believe this game plan will work?” Asher inquired.

“If you leave the Dusk outbreaks to us, all you have to worry about is taking that Zed douche down,” Alpha Cain revealed. “Our Seer is never wrong in their predictions, but you have to make sure you react fast the moment things happen.”

I didn’t understand what they were talking about, but Asher nodded.

“We’ll be fine. Hopefully, nothing will cause a calamity to strike Shifter Syndicate. As long as you handle the massive Dusk in the pit, we’ll deal with getting rid of Zed,” he declared. “As for Asmodeus?”

“We’ll deal with him,” Alpha Cain assured us as he patted Nova’s ass. “She has a lovely vendetta to serve against him.”

“Wonderful,” Asher replied.

“Why are you patting my ass like I’m in trouble?!” Nova questioned. “I’m innocent!”

“Sure,” Alpha Cain drawled out the word. “Your new friend isn't fighting her fate.”

“Oh, I’m perfectly fine with being punished,” I brushed off like it was no big deal. “I’ve accepted that punishment sex is worth it.”

That had Nova losing it in laughter while Kenzo began to chuckle.

“How can you say that so bluntly?” Brook exclaimed, her face completely red.

“Because she’s badass!” Nova hollered. “Better be careful, Brook. You don’t want to lose your best friend status!”

“Hey! Nova is my Alpha and bestie!” Brook pointed out. “Take your fae back!”

“I didn’t leave.” Kenzo laughed but ended up walking over to where Asher stood with Beta Tobias in tow. “How’s the air quality up there?” he inquired as he purposely acknowledged my predicament chilling on Asher’s shoulder.

“Lovely, actually. Clear of all the toxic fumes down below,” I exaggerated. Asher groaned and lowered me to the ground. “Hey. I was enjoying that.”

“I know you were,” he huffed and side-glanced at me. “It doesn’t feel like a punishment when you’re enjoying it.”

Alpha Cain ended up doing the same with Nova, and she clapped her hands.

“Freedom!” she cheered. “Brook Bitch! Come over here so we can say goodbye to our new friends.”

“We’re actually friends now,” I voiced, and I enjoyed the way Nova smirked with pride.

“We’re similar in everything! I’m sure if we hang out, we’ll leave the Syndicates quaking! As if we’re not already doing that with our existence but nevertheless, problem diverted!” she declared and gestured around to acknowledge the bodies all over the ground. “Uh…are you gonna clean that up, or should I?” she specifically asked Alpha Cain as she peered up at him since he stood right behind her. “Ayuna’s hungry.”

The Alpha simply looked down and they shared a look that made Nova squeal.

“Score!”

“I didn’t say anything,” Alpha Cain acknowledged.

“You don’t have to,” Nova dismissed him. “I’ll just take my chances and enjoy being punished later.”

“Yup. We can’t let you two hang together alone,” Asher concluded.

“Agreed,” Alpha Cain replied, and we gasped.

“Why not?!” we whined.

“This is going to turn into a lengthy argument,” Beta Elliot announced. “It’s best we get going. I sense unwanted company.”
