“Would be beneficial to solve the problem sooner rather than later,” Mercury voiced. “That white sword is new.”

“I don’t know why I keep doing that,” I admitted. “It always appears when I feel like I’m about to pass out or reached my limit. Like a last-resort thing. Nyx thinks it can be another Celestial thing but she’ll ask Diana about it next week.”

“She and your brothers are coming next week, correct?”

“Yes.” I weakly smiled at the news they were going to visit and stay here with us until we know what the plan was in terms of narrowing down Zed’s movements so we could take him out once and for all. “They want to spend some time with me and Asher. With the news of Asher and I being engaged, the gossip is being picked up and spread like wildfire. I think Mother wishes for me to start planning the wedding here before materials and venues sell out since summer is wedding season.”

Mercury stared at me for a long moment.

“You don’t seem like the ‘summer' wedding type.”

I had to smirk at her claim.

“Winter would be fun but I doubt my mother can wait a year.”

“Couldn’t you do it sooner rather than later?” she offered. “Are you waiting for specific people to attend?”

“Honestly…we’re not really waiting on anyone,” I admitted. “Like everyone at the first wedding will attend. Then they’ll be Cinder, Theo, and a few individuals Guardian knows. A few shifters from Tainted Syndicate which includes Novacane, Alpha Cain, Brook, Beta Elliot, and their guests. I think it's basically going to be more for our public display of affection and commitment so we don’t have to wait a full year, but the venue, in particular, may be a problem.”

“Why is that?”

“They’re booked out,” I confessed. “It’s an outdoor venue that’s a bit outside of Shifter Syndicate. It’s a popular spot because theirs like never bad weather there, no matter the season. If it rains, it’s almost majestic looking, and the same when it snows. The temperature stays comfortable and the place is really warded so celebs and powerful shifters enjoy booking because you can control exactly what gets out to the press.”

“You don’t need to wait,” she emphasized. “Xenon owns that place.”

“Huh?” I gasped. “Xeno?! Owns the most popular wedding venue of Shifter Syndicate.”

“Intriguingly enough. His Beta runs it. They actually just made an office for it here in East Syndicate since they’re here far too often than they like to admit.”

“No way,” I whispered and further lowered my voice. “The Beta he’s dating, right?”

“Mhmm,” Mercury bobbed her head. “I’ll have a talk with him.”

“Meaning you’ll blackmail him,” I assumed and watched her smirk.

“Whatever gets you a venue,” she assured me. “I get along with them. Don’t worry about it.”

“Xenon hates my guts,” I reminded her as though she’d forgotten.

“Xenon is envious of your power, but I don’t believe he genuinely hates you,” she noted. “He simply hates disturbances and change.”

“The definition of me walking around, minding my own business,” I groaned.

“Go take a break,” she encouraged. “Think you can handle a few more rounds after?”

“I can try,” I beamed. “I break will help. I wouldn’t mind going for a quick walk to grab a snack or something. I’m craving those cool blueberry seaweed granola bars you guys have.”

“That taste utterly disgusting,” she cringed at the mention of the snack that I’d clearly gained a new obsession for.

“I’ll buy every single bar your Syndicate has,” I vowed and the woman's eye twitched in horror.

“I’m telling Asher you’ve gone mad.”

I laughed far too hard. “C’mon! They’re good! He tried it.”

“And thought he was going to meet his ancestors in the Shadow Realm,” she reminded which had me laugh even harder because I remembered the disgusting face that morphed on my husband’s face.

“Kenzo got a photo of that!” I declared. “I’m gonna print it huge and hang it during the wedding reception.
