“Only one person can kill Zed,” he revealed. “The man who saved him from death long ago.”
“Selene’s father,” Zero declared, and we looked at him as Xenon smirked.
“Only he can kill him and it’s rather easy to do. If Nyx can empower Selene with a magical boost, she can play her role perfectly.”
“So you want Zed to enter the Shadow Realm,” I inquired.
“He’ll enter, we’ll trap him, and then your wife will do her Celestial magic with the help of your son to revive her father, who can reverse what he did to save Zed in the first place. The moment he reverses it, Zed is literally dead. He’s on borrowed time anyways.”
“How do you know all of this?” Tobias dared to ask.
“You think I took this mission for shits and giggles? To be a double agent, I gotta make sure I do my research so I can support the proper side without making it look like I am. Though, Bleu saw through me. She’s smart.”
“Of course, she is,” I huffed, and he laughed.
“Don’t go saying because she’s my wife.”
I want to punch him again.
“Fine,” Zero began and we all looked at him as he seemed focused. “The moment Selene wakes, take her to the Shadow Realm, Azu. Bring Tobias with you. That’s all the backup you’ll need. Asta and I will handle things here. Xenon, you’re good at traps, aren’t you?”
“Ask and you shall receive,” he purred.
"Make a trap that will ensure Zed’s soul can’t pass when he dies.”
Xenon whistled.
“I actually feel sorry for the fucker,” he declared but slowly worked on standing up. “As long as I get checked afterward.”
“Nyx is free if you wish to see her to heal your injuries.”
“Nah,” Xenon dismissed. “If you want a cube of eternity, I’m gonna have to start that now. Besides, I want Bleu to wake and see what her enraged husband did to me.”
I gritted my teeth as a growl began to rumble against my chest, which sent the man into a whistling spree as he walked further into the room to grab a piece of chalk before he began to quickly draw various symbols and magic circles on the blackboard.
“Everyone, get ready to push things into motion,” Zero declared and looked at me. “Asher. A word.”
Aww fuck.
I followed his lead until we were just outside the private door to Selene’s room.
“Zero,” I began but he shook his head.
“You’re not in trouble,” he shot the idea down. “I simply called you to say congrats.”
“Fuck, Zero,” I cursed as his words actually sank in and I was fighting tears. “W-We weren’t even trying.”
“Mother Moon has a clear purpose in letting you two conceive on your first try,” he emphasized but smiled as he reached out to pat my shoulder. “When all this is over, I’m always there for you if you need to chat.”
I nodded and took a breath before I whispered, “I’m having a son. An heir, Zero. He’s going to be a douche like me!”
Now that had Zero laughing to the point that he muffled the sound so he wouldn’t wake Selene.
“I probably agree with that, but at least he’ll be an overprotective douche.”
“Having me and a little me is going to ruin this Syndicate,” I whined.
“You and I both know the Syndicate will be long forgotten by the time that child reaches the appropriate age,” Zero declared and patted my shoulder once more. “Your wife will wake soon. Send her my congrats.”
