“That’s convenient,” I quip, tossing Reed a look over my shoulder.

“You have no idea.” He smirks. “Maybe I’ll show you someday.”

“Or maybe not.”

“They’re custom-made to my exact specifications.”

“I’m sure they are.”

“Get the right amount of pressure in just the right places and I promise you’ll never want to get out of that fucking shower ever again.”

Holy hotness.

He laughs when he registers the color of my cheeks. I’m not usually the kind of girl who blushes, but seriously, what does he expect?

This guy has no shame at all.

I feel his eyes following me as I walk down the hallway, getting a quick glimpse of what appear to be guest rooms along each side, a couple more bathrooms, and a room that’s been set up with gym equipment. There’s an enormous four-door cupboard in the middle of the hallway. It might be a linen cupboard, or some other sort of storage, but I don’t dare open any of the doors.

God knows what I’d find.

“This is my bedroom.” Reed’s voice sounds gravelly for some reason, rough in ways that it wasn’t just moments before. “Want to see?”

My head starts to shakeno, but a softyesslips through my lips, and the next thing I know I’m stepping inside Reed’s bedroom andwowsersbecause the word bedroom really isn’t the right word for what I’m looking at right now.

It’s a vast expanse of lush gray carpet and wooden furniture. The ceiling-high windows look out on the lit-up New York high-rises. The bed is modern but it still has a very masculine feel to it. It’s made of what looks to be driftwood and it complements the rest of the furnishings perfectly.

On the white wall above the bed is an abstract painting of blues and grays and maybe it’s supposed to be the sea, but I can’t focus properly on the painting anymore because Reed just stepped in close behind me and I can feel the warmth of his breath on the back of my neck.

“You like it?” he asks softly.

I nod slowly. “It’s beautiful.”

I notice another bathroom just off the bedroom and a walk-in closet that would easily be bigger than my entire apartment. There are shelves of folded clothes and rows and rows of hanging space.

“You wear a lot of black.”

“I guess.”

“Is that like a rock star uniform? You get to claim that shit on tax or something?” Sarcasm is my go-to, and I smile as I turn to look up at Reed, but the instant our eyes meet I feel my lungs seize up inside my chest and my smile slides away like the night.

He’s blocking the doorway to his bedroom with his enormous body, gripping the frame with both hands much like he was when I first arrived. His eyes aren’t as blue as usual in the soft light, but instead, they’re dark and filled with something that looks a whole lot like lust.

He looks me up and down, and I feel every inch of his burning gaze as it slides over my body. Confident, sexy eyes intense, and he’s staring down at me like he wants to undress me and take me right there on the floor.

He’s so freaking hot.

But he’s also so freaking wrong for me. Everything about this is wrong. I’m not going to fall into his trap.

“I need to leave,” I tell him quickly, my breath catching in my throat.

Traitorous breath.

But it’s hard to ignore all the ink and muscles and I have to admit he’s a little intimidating in a very masculine way that makes the deepest, darkest parts of me clench in the most delicious ways possible.

His stomach suddenly rumbles so loudly it practically shakes the walls. He winces, lowering his arms. “Sorry, I’m starving.”

“Yeah, sounds like it.”
