We won.

The boys won!

Hailey’s pulling me from our spot, and I barely have time to register to grab Abram’s jacket sleeve, but somehow, I manage. He can’t stay up here; his son and their team just won the championship.

We won. They fucking did it!

The crowd below beats us onto the court by the time we shuffle through everyone. A bubble hiccup of a laugh escapes me, spotting him.

My cheeks hurt the wider my grin grows. It’s basically to my forehead but I don’t care. Those strong arms wrap around just below my thighs, and I’m spinning and laughing in my excitement.

Lowering me, my fingers wind through his dark hair before settling around his neck. Watching Cole with nothing but pure admiration. “Do you know how proud of you I am? You did it, Iceman. You won!”

Unbashful in his abilities, his expression turns cocky. His arrogance is worn like an invisible crown atop his head. “Don’t tell me you doubted me, Princess?”

“Never,” I admit, still in awe.

A shiver shakes down my spine with the force of a lit match. My once enemy’s lips now smashed down to mine. The action is forceful, like he couldn’t control himself any longer if he tried.

That makes two of us.

His hot breath traces the seam of my mouth, and my heart rate accelerates to a dangerous speed, but then he’s pulling away too soon.

The warmness fans my mouth as he gauges me under those thick lashes. Silently, they laugh, amused by my obvious frustrations.

My bottom lip pokes out in disappointment and his eyes sparkle, savage like. Cynical as much as he is a tease.

Bastard.

“Seems I’m not the only one who’s gotten caught up in the excitement of the win,” Cole reports. His chin clipping in the direction past my shoulder.

I hadn’t realized my mouth was open, dangling loosely until Cole put his fingers underneath my chin. Closing it back up.

We’re both watching the same thing. Only while I’m completely stunned, he seems almost impressed. His mouth arched in a sly curve.

Finn h-he’s kissing my best friend and she… she’s giving it right back.

When I didn’t think this could get any more overwhelming, Finn removes one of his hands from his touch on her skin. Taking it from where it’s firmly placed on Hailey’s jaw and raising it. Fisting it in wordless accomplishment.

Her eyes spring open, fluttering, while Finn’s are slower to react when they finally pull apart.

Their mouths may not be locked anymore but that’s all the distance my brother allows. His stare as wolfish as his desire for her.

All these people around praising him, and he only has eyes for the girl right in front of him.

How familiar.

Cole tucks me under his arm. Leaning in, his teeth scrape the bottom of my earlobe. “Hate to break it to you sweetheart, but it seems like you won’t be the only one scoring tonight,” he muses. Tone as thoughtful as it is promising.

I choke down the uncertainty of what this means for them until another body comes into focus. Finn steps out of their hold. Abram is the only thing shocking enough to break up the lust bubble.

I can’t hear what they’re saying over the noise of everything else, and at first, I wonder if this is a bad idea. Cole’s grip on me firms when I try to move closer. He holds me back.

Their mouths are moving and then Finn’s arm stretches out between them. Abram takes it, but then changes his mind last second and pulls him in. Going for one of those one-armed back pat hugs instead of only a handshake.

The coiled muscles inside my body unwind at the sight. Sinking further, I drop into Cole’s side, wrapping my arms as I hug his waist.

We all still have things we’re working through but this is a good start.
