Rolling in the bed my arm felt the cold, empty, space next to me. Of course he wasn’t here. It was a naïve thought that he wouldn’t skip out early in the morning. He was smooth. I would give him that. Feeding me every line to make me comfortable.

Pulling the blanket up over my body the shame of my stupidity washed through me. Check out was at eleven so I had a few hours to wallow in self pity. My phone buzzed next to me and every bit of me said ignore it. It buzzed again and again. It could be Nicole having a problem. I couldn’t ignore that.

Bryce: good morning Darlin. You looked so peaceful I didn’t want to wake you

Bryce: I grabbed you some coffee, didn’t want to just assume I was welcome back up in your room

Nicole: just saw *someone* in the lobby with two coffees and a smile from ear to ear. You know anything about that?

Shit… I didn’t know what to text her back. She was my best friend and would probably just ask him even if I tried to keep it a secret. Answering her first I cringed at how to answer.

Hannah: surprised you’re functioning. Cole didn’t seem like that was going to be an option

Nicole: stop deflecting. I’m fully satisfied right now, can we say the same for you? I could ask Bryce if you’d prefer

Hannah: NO!

I screamed at my phone as I typed the two-letter word praying she didn’t ask him.

Bryce: Nicole is awfully persistent.

Things were going to spiral fast if I didn’t get him out of her reach or give her the details she was seeking.

Hannah: you can come back up. I mean if you want…

Hannah: Don’t you have a husband you could screw?

Nicole: he’s sleeping. We already had our wake up sex.

A moment later there was a knock on the door. Pulling my robe around my naked flesh I walked to the door. Pulling it open Bryce must have gone home and changed. A tight fitting black shirt with a PBR logo sitting on the left breast hugged his biceps. His jeans were worn down but looked perfect on him.

“Hi.” My voice squeaked as our eyes met.

“Mornin’ Darlin.”

Moving to the side I let him into the room as I pulled the robe tighter around myself. I probably looked like hell right now. I should have changed before I told him to come up. Placing the coffee down on the nearest flat surface once the door was closed he moved closer to me. His arm wrapped around my waist pulling me taut against him.

His lips brushed mine gently. My entire body felt boneless in his arms. A chill ran down my back as he pressed our bodies closer together.

“I need to shower.”

Raising an eyebrow he looked down at me. The robe shifting enough to reveal I wasn’t wearing anything under it. His hand bunch the cloth around my ass. Taking in a deep breath he closed his eyes and exhaled.

“Please tell me you have something under this Hannah.”

Silence was my only response. I wasn’t about to lie to him.

“A man can only have so much restraint Hannah. You just let me into your room with nothing but a robe on. You realize I’m not going to just sit out here knowing you’re in there. Water dripping down every part of you. Every delicious inch.”

“It’s just a shower. I’ll be quick.”

He looked over at the clock next to the bed.“Check out is at eleven right?”

I nodded. The look in his eyes wasn’t just lust anymore. There was a hunger there. One that didn’t look like anyone would satisfy it.

Walking into the bathroom he turned the water on in the shower. He didn’t speak, barely looked at me. Moving slowly back over to me my heart pounded in my chest. What was he doing?
