Annas hummed. “What is it? You’re craving a taste of that underage pussy yourself?”

Demon leaned his palms flat on the wooden table. “What the fuck did you just say to me?”

Annas guffawed. “I knew it!”

“I’m not some sick fuck, Annas. I’m almost twice her age.”

Demon didn’t even know why he defended himself against this wild accusation.

Sure, in several years from now, she would undoubtedly grow up into a gorgeous woman that would drive some poor stump crazy with her big mouth.

But not him.

Demon would never take on an Old Lady.

And even if he could set aside his tormented past and the daily horrors he had to deal with, he would never go for a brother’s sister.

Club rules were there for a reason. If even the Enforcer couldn’t follow the rules, things were even more fucked around here than they already were.

CHAPTER SIX

Three years ago

Cat swallowed down her grandmother’s cherry pie, hoping that it wouldn’t get stuck in her dry throat. She’d been on edge all day. And not because of her eighteenth birthday celebration with her family at her grandparents’ home.

The reason she checked her grandparents’ driveway through the living room window every two seconds was because Devlin could pick up Nora and her any second.

After what happened four years ago, Devlin had only invited them once to the clubhouse, but Nora didn’t want to go, so they skipped out.

Cat understood Nora. If what happened with that prospect had taught Cat anything, it was that she needed to learn how to fight. She’d started kickboxing with her cousin Ryleigh, who finally had enough of being picked on at school. Fighting gave both of them such a rush that they even asked Devlin to teach them several tricks since he fought for the Iron Vikings’ illegal fight club.

“I wish I could come with you to the clubhouse,” her cousin Mia said.

“You just want to check out their tats,” Cat said with a smile.

Mia bumped her shoulder against Cat’s. “You’re right. Ugh! I can’t wait to have one of those bad boys on my table.”

Cat waggled her eyebrows. “For a tattoo sesh? Or to ride them reverse cowgirl?”

“Catriona Walker! I just can’t take you anywhere! Go wash that filthy mouth of yours,” her mother shouted from the hallway on her way to the kitchen.

Mia giggled at Cat’s unbelieving smile. She’d turned eighteen today. Did her mother really think that she never talked about sex?

Nanna sat down in her armchair and picked up her crossword puzzle from the small table next to her seat. She liked to pretend not to listen in on their conversations, but in the end, she always had a thing or two to say about what’s been said.

Nanna pointed her pen at the half-eaten piece of birthday cake on the coffee table in front of Cat. “You don’t like my cake?”

“I’m sorry, Nanna. I have an upset stomach.”

Nanna watched Cat shift in her seat on the couch under her knowing gaze. “Boy trouble?”

“If I had trouble in that department, it would bemantrouble,” Cat said with a smile.

Nanna grinned in return. “That’s so?”

Cat nodded. “I never date younger guys.”

“You’re not dating anyone,” Mia said before she gobbled the last piece of cake from Cat’s plate.
