He left her sitting in the dark as he made his way back to the clubhouse. From now on, he needed to be extra vigilant around Cat. He shot himself in the foot by tasting her. Catriona Walker was fucking perfect.

And still off-fucking-limits.

CHAPTER TEN

Present

Cat rolledthe black leather pants over her hips while ignoring her twin sister talking her out of her daring plan.

“I mean it. This is a bad idea. You’re only setting yourself up for heartbreak. Remember last time…” Nora said.

Cat sat down in front of her vanity station before she put the last bit of mascara on her long, dark lashes. It didn’t matter what her sister thought of Demon. After tonight, he would finally be hers.

“You don’t know him like I do, sis,” Cat said.

“Demon is the club's enforcer for a reason. He’s nothing like those wannabe bad boys following you around at the gym. Demon is the real deal.”

Cat met her sister’s worried eyes in the mirror and winked. “That’s exactly the appeal.”

“He’s dangerous. I’ve heard Angel say—”

Cat twirled her stool, holding still in front of Nora sitting on the edge of her king-sized bed, who instantly blushed.

“Angel, eh? What did the handsome blonde Viking have to say about Demon?”

Nora took out the long braid resting over her left shoulder, her fingers untangling her chestnut hair. “It was just something I overheard when I visited Dev at the club…”

Cat held her sister’s wide, gray eyes and scoffed. “Talk about a bad boy. At least you know what you get with Demon since he lives up to his name. Angel isn’t anything of the sort as he pulls the wool over your eyes with his good looks.”

Nora kept her head down as she brushed something from her dress. “I don’t like Angel that way… he’s a brute.”

Cat gave her introverted twin a break as she turned back around and picked up the mascara wand again. “They all are. Devlin used to be the biggest whore of the Iron Vikings MC before he married Teagan.”

“Our brother would never hurt Teagan.”

Cat shrugged, running her fingers through her long black hair with the tips dipped in pink. “Just like Demon would never hurt me.”

Nora rose from the bed, righting her frilly white dress that would give her a preverbal halo in a clubhouse full of grimy Iron Vikings tonight, but Cat wouldn’t dream of putting her sister even more on edge by pointing it out.

Cat finally had enough of her toxic parents and moved in with Devlin and her brother Kieran, leaving her twin Nora and their younger brother Finn behind, as they wished to stay with their parents.

“How do you know Demon wouldn’t hurt you? Most of his own club brothers avoid him like the plague,” Nora said with a little shiver for emphasis.

“That’s because they know he’ll set them straight if they fuck things up for the club. He probably doesn’t make them write ‘bad biker’ a thousand times in a notebook during detention if they cross him,” Cat said.

Nora’s Cupid’s bow lip pulled up. “There’s just no talking you out of this, is there?”

“Nope.” Cat let the ‘p’ pop.

“One last thing before I promise to drop it…”

Cat fastened the lace on her second leather biker boot that matched her leather pants and black top and came up for air with a sigh. “Shoot.”

“About what happened between you and Demon on our eighteenth birthday—”

“We’ve already turned twenty-one, sis. He can no longer hide behind my age. I’ve been waiting on this night for three long years…”

“I have a bad feeling about this,” Nora muttered as she followed Cat out of her bedroom.
