“Let’s go,” the more silent guy out of the three said as he pulled Joey by his arm.

“Listen to Evan,” Demi said.

Evan pulled Joey’s arm once again before the three of them turned and walked away.

“What a bunch of losers,” Cat said.

Demi turned and said, “Who are you?”

“I’m Cat.”

“Got that the first time. I meant, are you here with one of the brothers?”

“Devlin is my brother…”

Demi’s face instantly turned from suspicious to friendly. “Ah, we’ve been dying to meet Devlin’s brothers and sisters. Are they also here?”

“My sister Nora is.”

“Hi, I’m Amara. My friend Rosie said that your other brother, Kieran, is also a hottie,” the younger sister said with a smile.

Cat didn’t respond as a motorcycle rounded the corner and the loud exhaust notes rushed through her body.

The man killed the engine and looked directly at her over his handlebars like he’d sniffed the newbie out in a heartbeat. His black hair matched the leather that covered him from his neck to his boots. She swallowed her dry throat as he lifted one of his tree-trunk thighs to get off his motorcycle.

He walked right up to them, giving Cat a dismissive glance on his way over. She didn’t know why, but she needed his eyes on her. Cat righted her shoulders and held her breath for what was to come.

“Kamari mou…”he said, as he kissed Demi on her cheek before he did the same with Amara.

“Who are you?” he asked Cat in a not so friendly tone of voice.

“What does that mean?” Cat asked in return.

“She slow or somethin’?” he asked Demi with his brows furrowed.

“I’m not retarded, you asswipe! I just wanted to know what Kamamara Mooo meant,” Cat said.

“It’s Greek. It meansmy pride,” Amara said while the biker glared at Cat in silence.

“Oh, boy. A Greek Adonis…” Cat mocked since he’d called her slow. She had enough of his foul mood and stormed off to one of the dirt bikes parked next to the track.

“Is she fuckin’ serious?” she heard him ask the sisters behind her back.

Cat hopped on the first shiny dirt bike in line, happy to find the key in the ignition so she could get away from this guy. It angered her that for some weird reason; she cared what he thought about her. She kicked the bike from its standard and revved the engine once in good measure before blasting towards the track.

She laughed over the annoyingly loud engine as she entered the first dirt track. Even though her brother had taught her a thing or two about his bike, and even had let her ride it in a parking lot at night; this bike was something else. Or maybe it was the dirt and all the high ramps that had her fisting the handlebars until her knuckles turned white.

She held still on top of the fourth ramp and looked down at the drawn crowd of leather-clad bikers.

“Get your ass off my fuckin’ bike, Stink!” Turtle shouted through an egg-white megaphone from next to the track with an angry-looking Devlin and a shocked Nora flanking him.

Cat gave it her all to show them she could handle the bike and went in for a killer jump. Up in the air, she suddenly felt a blast of wind knocking her to the side. She instantly let go of the bike and crashed on her side against the dirt.

“Ouch!”

A groan escaped her lips as she tried to get up. The angry, almost black eyes of that mysterious Greek talking biker held her captive as he fell on his knees beside her.

“Treló korítsi… crazy girl…”he whispered while prodding her arms and legs, checking for broken bones. When satisfied with his little check-up, he picked her up in his arms.
