His large hand pushed her upper back. “Move, bitch. We don’t have all night.”

Cat’s knees buckled when she passed the van and a hut in the middle of the woods appeared before her. It looked like a decayed wooden hunting cabin covered in moss and grime with an unscrewed plank door.

She did her best not to show any emotions, holding her head up high and her eyes trained on the cabin as the two other idiots stepped out of the van.

One guy wore his sandy brown hair piled up on his head in a man bun. The other guy’s bald head was covered in a spider web tattoo.

She made sure to memorize every horrible blotched tattoo on their hands and necks.

Bald Guy had a lizard tattoo that looked like a giraffe, and Man Bun had a rose on his forearm that looked like the same suction thingy she used to get off. On second thought, maybe he’d asked for a sucking vibrator on his arm and got a funky looking rose.

Her cousin Mia would faint at the sight of these horrible tattoos. Mia worked as an apprentice in a tattoo parlor downtown and recently did a beautiful, realistic portrait of Gwenn on Zeus’ chest after Zeus saw Mia’s artwork of Teagan on Devlin.

Thinking about her cousin Mia helped her steady her nerves. If thinking about her life back home for however long helped escape the horrid reality, she would do it.

Mentally checking out and going somewhere deep inside her mind could possibly be the only thing helping her survive this night. Oh, God. Let this be just one night.

These bastards were nothing but scum of the earth who didn’t deserve her fear. Demon will cut off these badly tattooed hands for even daring to touch her. The thought gave her something to focus on. She couldn’t wait to hear them cry.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Demon waved away the offered pack of smokes from Wolf as they stood next to the hole in the fence. Demon checked the back of the house once more, since he couldn’t stand around doing nothing while Fox was busy on his computer. They still hadn’t heard a word back from Angel and Dragon and with each passing second, Demon lost more and more of his sanity.

He eyed all windows but found nothing out of the ordinary at first glance. The light in Demi’s room went on shortly before she yanked the dark green curtains closed.

Demon had kept his room next to Demi’s, where he slept whenever the clubhouse got too crowded. Spending time with his sisters usually helped him to cool off and suppress the need for bloodshed.

Not tonight.

If he had to look at his sisters’ teary eyes any longer, he would lose it.

Demon watched Wolf take a drag from his smoke, his eyes trained on Amara as she fluttered through the kitchen, making coffee for his club brothers like the good Club Princess her parents raised her to be while Demi hid upstairs.

Demon got Demi. In her eyes, tonight added proof of IVMC wrecking the lives of everyone standing too close to the fire. Demi used to fight on the daily with Annas about the club. Things got so bad between them she’d packed up her things and left for Florida years ago. If it weren’t for Annas dying weeks ago, Demi wouldn’t even be here.

Demi still felt the need to give Demon and Zeus a piece of her mind about the club, though. There was nothing he could say in his defense. Demon knew that Demi and the club would never work, so he did what most brothers did: he gave her a wide berth when she was in one of her ‘I-hate-the-club-and-everyone-in-it’ moods.

Amara’s bright green eyes stared out of the kitchen window. Wolf sucked in a breath before quickly tearing his eyes away from Amara’s gaze.

Demon remembered his discussion with Wolf during the last lockdown weeks ago. Wolf came at him about Amara sleeping in Demon’s room even though Demon slept on the floor and Wolf knew like no other that Demon and Amara were like brother and sister.

Demon had kept a closer eye on Wolf since then, but his best friend still fucked every sweetbutt smiling his way while Amara didn’t come around as often as she used to. It was almost as if she avoided the clubhouse, much like her older sister. Something she’d never done before.

"What's going on between you and my sister? You’re both acting weird," Demon said.

Wolf grinned, unbothered by his best friend's icy glare. "Which one? You've got four sisters. They're all babes—"

"Shut your filthy mouth or I'll do it for you."

"What? The two living with your momma are what? Sixteen and eighteen? At least one of them is legal—ouch!"

Wolf rubbed the back of his head. "Why do you always do that?"

"If I’d hit you like I would any fucker talking about my sisters, you’d be lying out cold on the grass for the next three hours."

"Talkin' 'bout sisters... That was some show earlier in the clubhouse. Fuckin' hottest thing I've seen in a long while," Wolf said.

Demon grunted. Hot was an understatement. Cat's underlying rage pouring out of her pores while she held that sweetbutt's face to his dick, fed into his own rage since he'd wanted to claim Cat for years—but couldn't.
