Demon cocked his head. “I dare you call my Old Lady a ball and chain to her face, brother.”

Wolf held up both hands, “No thanks. I know what your woman is capable of.”

Demon’s eyes glistened with pride, just like Wolf had intended. It was good seeing his friend this happy.

“Can you believe old Mud? Cat would tear him to pieces before we have any intel on Silas. He’s lucky I’m keeping my Old Lady away from him.”

Wolf followed Demon out of the room and watched him lock up.

“Will she listen, though?” Wolf mused.

Demon actually laughed. “No. Of course not. She may be my bitch now, but she’ll always be Whirlwind.”

“I feel a migraine coming up thinking about you two bickering about torturing Mud the best way,”

“Nobody I’d rather have chew my ass off,” Demon said as he took the bottom step to exit the basement.

“Whatever floats your boat, D.”

They entered the cramped corridor, needing to walk behind each other when Dragon, their Sergeant-at-Arms, entered the corridor from the bar.

“You’ve seen Amara?” Dragon asked.

“Why?” Both Demon and Wolf said with suspicion lacing that single word.

“Brass Balls asked me to offer her my room since Turtle is taking back his.”

“Where is Demi staying?” Wolf asked.

Dragon shrugged. “Don’t know, don’t care. All I know is that the girl hates it here and I’d rather wake up next to Princess since she—”

Wolf was just a second ahead of Demon in flying at Dragon’s throat. As his fingers dug into Dragon’s skin, he roared, “The fuck did you just say?! You plannin’ on sleepin’ in one bed with Princess? What the fuck have you been smokin’?”

He felt Dragon’s Adam’s apple bob. “I-It’s still my room, VP. She can stay but I’m not leavin’. Ask any of the brothers and they’ll all tell you the same.”

Wolf saw red. “You think she’ll let you between her thighs?”

Wolf punched Demon’s cousin in his gut before he gave him a right hook next.

“Damn, Wolf. You can’t get mad at a brother for tryin’,” Dragon said as he wiped the blood from under his nose.

Demon grabbed Wolf by the shoulder, pulling him away from Dragon as far as was possible in the cramped corridor.

“Nobody touches the Club Princess.” While Demon had pulled Wolf away, luckily he still stood with Wolf on this.

Dragon shrugged. “What about that new rule? They don’t apply to Princess?”

As the enforcer, Demon knew exactly what rule his cousin talked about.

“All family members are off limit except when you make her your Old Lady. You ready for that commitment? Think about your next words.”

Wolf would hate to be in Dragon’s shoes. Wolf scratched the back of his head, knowing that in some sort of way, he did in fact stood in Dragon’s shoes. Wolf had almost kissed Amara in the kitchen this morning. He’d almost crossed that damn line.

“You know I’m not. I’m just like Wolf.”

Wolf felt sick to his stomach. He wished he was built differently. Wolf wished that he could go against Amara’s family’s wishes and tell her brothers—his best friends, that he would stick to one woman from now on. But he already knew that he wouldn’t last long.

And he would never hurt Amara like that. Not in a million years. He cared too much for the girl to ever hurt her.
