“You’re such a dirty girl, Amara.”

“That’s why I’m so perfect for you, remember?”

Wolf swept her up in his arms, walking them out of the bar.

“I might be crazy, but I’m not stupid. We’ll never be able to fuck in the open until I’ve told your brothers. And then they would also not be around the compound, because they will hunt me down after they catch me fucking you out in the open.”

She blew out a frustrated breath. “That’s not fun.”

Wolf passed a few open doors in the hallway before reaching their room. By the sound coming from behind Demon and Cat’s closed bedroom door, it was clear that her friend was feeling better already.

Wolf closed his bedroom door behind them. His silence as he undressed himself made her nervous.

“Are you okay?”

Wolf hummed.

“You want to talk about it?” she asked.

Wolf sighed as he sat down on the edge of the bed. “It’s just that I’ve never wanted to be like my old man, you know? He always cheated on my mom. He made her feel unworthy and she slowly lost her head because of her heartbreak.”

“I know. I’m sorry about what happened with your mom.”

He took a deep breath and said, “I would never do that to youi psychí mou. I’ve never wanted an Old Lady because I knew it wouldn’t have been fair to anyone. But with you, I know I’ll stay loyal. I only want you.”

“I only want you, too.”

Wolf shook his head. “I’m still disappointed in myself that I made you feel bad when you found me at the bar. I promise that I won’t let any of them touch me. Not even a simple touch. Only you.”

She sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.

“Thank you. It means the world that you see it from my perspective.”

“I mean it, Amara. I’ll walk through fire for you. You’re my Old Lady and I’ll make sure that no one will ever hurt you. Especially not me.”

“I know,” she said.

“I’m going to talk to your brothers tomorrow.”

She knew this was it for them. Wolf would never leave the club if Zeus and Demon disapproved of them being together. And she wouldn’t want him to choose. The club was his life, just like it was hers.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Wolf watched the Colorado River from one of the larger rocks at the river bend where the club camped every other month. He’d texted Zeus and Demon an hour ago, asking them to meet him here.

He’d been nervous all morning, something he hadn’t felt in a long time. Wolf recognized the roaring engines of his best friends’ motorcycles and turned around.

He swallowed his dry throat as Zeus and Demon stalked towards him, taking their damn time.

“What’s up, brother?” Zeus asked him first before they bumped fists.

“Nothin’” he lied.

Zeus pulled a brow. “I highly doubt it. What’s with all this secrecy?”

Demon bumped Wolf’s fist in silence, his scowl betraying his enforcer mode.

Wolf stood, coming up to their eye level. He scratched the back of his head, wondering what he should say. He’d rehearsed this talk with Amara earlier this morning, but his words seemed to stick against the back of his throat.
