“This must be real bad if you’re lost for words,” Zeus said.

Demon held his knife sheath as he stared at Wolf. “Vic made a move yet?”

Right. They were in the middle of blowing smoke screens so Vic would take the bait and give himself away.

“No. Not yet.”

“Okay, spit it out. I’ve left my Old Lady behind for this,” Demon said.

Wolf paced a few steps with a hand on the back of his neck. “I know, I know. She’ll probably go down into the basement to have a crack at Mud as we speak.”

“Stop runnin’ your mouth and tell us already,” Zeus said.

“Right. Well… eh, ever since this lockdown… Amara…and I… we, eh…”

Both brothers narrowed their eyes at him. Demon gritted his teeth while Zeus scratched his beard as he eyed him up and down.

“Amara and you, what?” Zeus asked as he took a single step closer to him.

“Don’t say it,” Demon said.

Wolf furrowed his brows. “What?”

Demon’s eerie dark eyes pinned him down. “Don’t even say it... I’d hate to cut you.”

His best friend was dead serious. He already had the top from his sheath open for easy access.

“Amara and I have been friends for years, now. And in the last couple of weeks—”

“You touched our sister?!” Zeus jumped him first before his iron fist broke Wolf’s nose. Wolf tried to fight him off by pushing Zeus away from him, but Demon ran headfirst into his stomach.

“Oof!”

All air went out of his lungs before he slammed his back against the dirt. He didn’t have time to fight Zeus and Demon as they kicked and beat him into a pulp.

“You fuckin’ dared to touch the Club Princess? Our father trusted you! WE trusted you!” Zeus shouted.

“I can’t believe I asked you to take her into your room. Motherfuckin’ snake!” Demon roared.

Wolf didn’t stand a chance against his enforcer and president. He protected his head with his arms as he crawled into a ball.

“Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?” Zeus finally said as he stepped away.

“Get up!” Demon said, hoisting Wolf up. Demon obviously didn’t give a shit about his broken ribs.

Demon pushed Wolf upon another rock, his icy glare making Wolf divert his eyes.

Damn. He felt like a snake. He knew he’d betrayed his best friends by touching their sister behind their backs. If the tables were turned, if he had a sister, he would have felt the same way.

As his body hurt with every wheezing breath he took, he croaked, “What about you, Demon? Isn’t Cat a brother’s younger sister?”

“Nobody touches the Club Princess.”

“Fuck that shit!” Wolf shouted.

Zeus tried to come at him a second time, but this time Wolf clocked his friend as he obviously underestimated him.

“I don’t want to hurt you,” Wolf said between panted breaths.
