At one point he did manage to grab his phone but he dropped it onto the nightstand, more interested in what we were doing. I’m pretty sure if someone interrupted us right now, I’d actually lose it. His hands were everywhere, disappearing beneath my shirt to run over my skin. I pulled his off, tossing it off the side of the bed, before running my hands over his tattoos.

“Did I mention I’ve got a thing for guys with tattoos?”

His grin was wicked. “Really?”

I nodded, biting my lip. I honestly don’t think I could find one thing wrong with James, at least not physically. There was the whole workaholic thing but he was working on it and that meant the world to me. No one was perfect. I’m certainly not.

He dipped down, running his teeth along my neck and I fought the urge to squirm. I didn’t want to come off too needy but seriously. I ran my nails down his back and he let out a loud groan.

“Elizabeth…”

I grinned at the strain in his voice. When I did it again, he started moving more desperately, pulling off my clothes faster than I could blink. He kneeled above me, his breathing heavy as he tried to control himself. But I wasn’t really interested in his control right now. I pulled myself up so I kneeled with him.

He ran his rough hands up my sides, circling them around me. I traced my fingers lightly over the bruises on his face before pulling his mouth to mine again. It was addicting, his skin against mine. His chest brushed against mine and my nipples tightened. He noticed, one of his hands sliding between us to cup me. He nudged me, lifting me enough that his mouth could reach, pulling a peak into his mouth. I moaned, running my fingers through his hair.

It made him shiver whenever I did that and it thrilled me to no end. I was so focused on it, I didn’t notice his hand slip down my front until he was pushing a finger inside me. I cried out, rocking my hips automatically. He added another, his thumb brushing against my clit with each of my movements. The combination of his mouth and his fingers was heady and I clung to him, pleading for him not to stop.

I was so close, my whole body on fire, but right as I was about to tip over, James jerked away. I wanted to protest until I saw what I had been doing. My fingers dug into his shoulders, running against him as I moved, and James looked desperate. Dropping us back onto the bed, he reached into his nightstand, pulling out the foil packet but he was in too much of a rush and kept fumbling so I took it from him, rolling it over his length as he yanked his sweats off. He dragged me to him, sliding into me with ease.

We both groaned. There wasn’t even a pause, my hips automatically grinding against his. His thrusts were rough and frenzied and I wrapped my legs around his waist. When I tried to drag him down on top of me, he shook his head, pinning my arms above my head. He was trying to keep me from using my nails on him and it felt like a challenge.

For the first time, I took control, rolling until he was underneath me. I felt a little awkward and uncertain at first, but James grabbed my hips, moving me against him and I followed his lead. I put my hands on his chest, sliding against him. I pulled myself up as far as I could then dropped back down and his head flew back, a growl ripping from him. I kept up the motion, feeling bold with each noise of encouragement he gave me.

I tried to keep it up as long as I could but he kept hitting the right spots perfectly and I was losing focus. That, combined with watching the ecstasy on his face, and I was on edge. My stomach tightened and James’s eyes flew to mine. His grip on my hips tightened as he helped me keep up the pace. I whimpered, needing just a little more but I didn’t know what.

Suddenly, James sat up, his hands sliding to my upper back. He pulled me closer, running his lips down my chest. The moment he flicked his tongue over my nipple, I came apart, writhing on top of him. He flipped us quickly, lunging against me, and he came a few thrusts later with a shout, collapsing on top of me.

I hugged him to me, keeping him close as we reigned in our breathing. His head rested against my chest, his breath skating against the sweat on my skin. I couldn’t complain though, not after that.

“I don’t think I can think of a better way to start the day.”

I hummed. I wholeheartedly agreed but I wasn’t going to point out that he might have that kind of wake up call more often if he didn’t start working so early. I didn’t want to ruin the mood.

After a few minutes of cuddling, James pushed himself onto his elbows, shaking his head. “If I don’t move soon, I’m going to fall back asleep and I’ve got shit to do.” He kissed lightly across my shoulder before he got up. I shivered when he slipped out of me, rolling onto my side to watch him stumble to the bathroom. When I snickered, he flipped me off, disappearing into the bathroom, and I laughed out loud. For such a serious guy, he was surprisingly playful.

I debated going back to sleep, I didn’t really want to get moving yet, but I did tell Jo I would meet her and I need to get started on my job search eventually. I was a little worried about seeing Viktor again after everything that happened yesterday so maybe I could hide out in here…

I was deep in thought when James came out of the bathroom. He had showered and shaved and was only wearing a towel and I couldn’t look away from him. He smirked at me before disappearing into the closet.

“You look like you want to eat me. Did you not get enough before?” he called out.

I rolled onto my back, staring at the ceiling. “Is there really a limit on how much dessert you can have?”

He laughed as he came back out, leaning over me. He had slacks on but his shirt was unbuttoned, giving me just a hint of his abs as he bent down to kiss me.

“What’s the plan for today? Are you going to rest in here?”

I sighed, finally sitting up, hugging the sheets to my chest. I watched James get ready with a frown. “I’m not sure. Part of me wants to hide in here but I don’t think waiting will make it any easier. Besides, I need to start my job search, I can’t use my savings forever. Do you think Jo has a laptop I can borrow?”

“No idea. But I do.”

I frowned, glancing around the room. “Where?”

He chuckled, pulling what looked like a tall book off the bookshelf. It was a laptop case that looked like a book and I grinned at him. “That’s clever. Now I kind of want one.”

“Jo got it for me for Christmas. She got something for everyone, but she got me and Jaime both something special.”

“Because you’re her bodyguards?”
