“I feel like you’re itching to get outside. You can go if you want, I’m fine,” I growled. James’s eyebrows shot up. I felt a little guilty but it was bugging me and we hadn’t talked about it since before I was taken.

“I don’t need to be outside today. I’m staying here with you.”

“Yeah, for how long?” I mumbled, mostly to myself, but he must’ve heard me. He sighed, sitting on the bed next to me.

“I know I’ve got a lot to make up for. You were having a difficult time and I should’ve been around more. I apologize for that. I’m not going to lie and say I’ll be perfect next time, but I promise I’ll work harder. And if I’m working too much, you can just get Jo to summon me home again.”

I fought off a grin, trying to avoid looking at him and his stupid adorable face. I’m still mad. He dipped his head to meet my eyeline, making me smile. I tried my best to cross my arms, though with the sling it kind of lost its effectiveness. I narrowed my eyes at him until he actually started pouting.

“Oh my god, who taught you that?”

“Gabi. She said if she wanted Dmitriy not to be mad at her, all she had to do was make this face. Why? Is it working?”

I burst out laughing and he grinned. Seeing my stoic and intimidating boyfriend pout was something else. I leaned against him, relaxing as he tucked me against his side. He seemed content to just cuddle but I got bored after a while.

“Hey James?”

“Hmm?”

“I’m still mad at you.”

James seemeddetermined to make it up to me. He left only long enough to grab food, staying glued to my side as we watched TV on his laptop. I grouched about how he could’ve offered that option when I first got here but he apparently doesn’t ever use it for anything but work so it never crossed his mind.

I was starting to doze off when someone knocked on the door. Since I had been using James as a pillow, he couldn’t get up without moving me and I sighed heavily. He chuckled. “If it's work related, I’ll send them to Liam. Just one second, baby.”

I grumbled about being comfortable as he walked away. When he opened the door wider to let whoever was outside into the room, I frowned.

“I bring you gifts and glad tidings,” Jaime announced with an exaggerated British accent. He walked in carrying a decent sized TV, smirking at James when my eyes lit up.

“See? I speak geek. Who wants to watch TV on their phone anyway?”

James was scowling at him but Jaime ignored him, putting the TV down at the foot of the bed. “M’lady.” He was being goofy and I couldn’t stop laughing, which only seemed to make James’s mood worse. He looked close to throttling Jaime.

“What’s wrong with your face?” I questioned, trying and failing to pull myself farther down the bed. James appeared at my side instantly, moving me back to my spot against the headboard. Since that wasn’t where I was trying to go, I shot him a dirty look.

“Jaime likes to charm other people’s girlfriends. It’s going to get him killed one day,” James growled.

Jaime laughed, winking at me. When James lunged for him, he yelped, diving out of the way and popping up beside me. He pointed at me. “If you attack me, you could bump her. Stay back, beast!”

This was way more entertaining than the show we were watching. James had a thunderous look on his face, trying to figure out how to get Jaime without being anywhere near me, while Jaime looked smug, crossing his arms and leaning against the nightstand. I was so busy laughing, I didn’t notice Jo leaning against the doorframe until she spoke.

“You’d never guess that they were a team for years by the way they act.” She strode into the room, ignoring their arguments as she crawled onto the bed and laid next to me, taking James’s spot. Jaime’s grin only grew now that there were two women next to him. Jo leaned back against the headboard, snorting as James prowled closer, forcing Jaime to either run or get as close to us as possible. He chose the second one, sitting on the bed and scooting back until he was laid across our laps.

“If Liam catches you, he will actually kill you, you know that, right?” Jo was casual with the way she said it but I honestly didn’t doubt her. Jaime grinned.

“I have you to protect me. Remember?”

She rolled her eyes, pursing her lips against a smile. “Yes, I remember.”

I shot her a confused look and she sighed, shaking her head. “It’s a long story and I think you’ve had enough scary shit for a hot minute. This room is supposed to be about relaxing.” She shot a look at Jaime but he just smiled at her. James stormed out of the room, mumbling under his breath.

“If you just chased my boyfriend back to work when he’s supposed to be relaxing with me,I’mgoing to be the one to kill you,” I warned. Jo snickered at Jaime’s horrified expression.

Luckily, James came back a minute later. Unluckily, for Jaime at least, he brought Liam with him. Jaime was distracted talking to Jo and didn’t notice until Liam grabbed him by the ankle and yanked him off the bed.

“What the fuck did I tell you about hanging on my wife?”
