We spent most of the morning trying to pick stuff out but neither of us could really settle on something. Jo finally collapsed back into the couch.

“This is hard. All James ever talks about is work and exercise. How can we decorate based on that?”

James popped into the office right when I was about to agree with her. We both scowled at him, making him frown.

“What’d I do?”

“Don’t ask. Did you check out the sites I asked you about?” Liam asked him before we could answer.

James nodded. “Abandoned, like last time. This is why I thought they were dealt with, they fucking disappeared like they were never there in the first place. I figured they left town.”

Liam shot him a dark look. “Never make assumptions when it comes to cockroaches. We aren’t stopping until they’re wiped from the fucking map.”

I felt a little uneasy, Liam looked like the angry mob boss now. Jo stood, dropping herself into Liam’s lap without any hesitation. I watched in fascination as he slowly relaxed.

“Time for a break. I’m hungry.”

When it looked like Liam might argue, Jo captured his lips, silencing him. Blushing, I turned to face James instead. He looked grumpy and I felt bad for him. Following Jo’s lead, I stood, crossing the room to cuddle against him. He was gentle as he held me.

“I’m hungry too. Are you going to eat with me or are you going to ditch me again?”

That made Jo laugh. “Ouch. If you don’t eat with her, you’ll be in the doghouse for sure.”

I pursed my lips, hiding my smile. Yes, I was using guilt but I don’t think I have the sway Jo does when it comes to making our guys stop working. He tried to give me a look but he couldn’t hide his smile.

“Come on, baby. Let’s get you some food. You’re nicer to me when you’ve eaten.”

Jo managed to get Liam to join her and we all took a few minutes to eat something and decompress. I was probably going to give up on trying to decorate James’s room for now. I should just head to Target once this is all over and let Target tell me what to buy. When I mentioned it to Jo, she burst out laughing.

“Oh, we are totally going to do that. I’m going to text Gabi and Mariana, they’ll think it’s hilarious.”

When James tried to talk about work with Liam, Jo and I both pinned him with a dirty look. He smartly decided to wait until everyone was done eating before trying again.

“Any word from Volkov?”

“Not yet. He mentioned having his brother look into it, but they’ve got issues on their end that they’ve been dealing with. I don’t think he’s had the chance.”

I leaned closer to Jo. “What are they talking about?”

She shook her head. “There have been some problems with the security cameras. They wanted Yuri to look into it.”

“Oh, are you talking about your security issue?”

Liam’s voice went cold. “What security issue?”

I hesitated. Liam didn’t look like he was pissed at me specifically but he was seriously terrifying right now and I shifted back unconsciously. Jo noticed, putting a hand on my arm.

“He’s not mad at you. Just ignore his face.”

Even with her reassuring smile, it took me a minute to summon up the nerve to answer and that was only after Jo made Liam take a deep breath. When he looked less murderous, I relayed what Yuri had stumbled upon when he was showing me the basics of hacking.”

“I asked if he should be able to do that so easily and he didn’t think so but I don’t know if he ever got a chance to mention it to you or not. The thing with Viktor happened right after that so I wasn’t downstairs when Yuri left.”

Liam stood quickly. He didn’t say anything, he just stormed out of the room. Jo’s jaw dropped.

“Okay, I’m really hoping Yuri mentioned it to someone, even just one of our guys. He’s Dmitriy’s little brother but I’m pretty sure that won’t save him if Liam finds out we’re being hacked.”

I ducked my head. “It’s my fault if he didn’t. I freaked out and probably distracted him.”
