Page 32 of Facing Daemon

“Hendrick,” I scream, bolting upright, sweat beading my body, my breathing labored.

“Shh, baby, I’m right here,” Daemon says soothingly, coming into my view.

At the sight of him, I burst into tears all over again and collapse in his arms. When the building exploded, I swear, I thought I lost him, and it scared me at the thought of my life without Daemon.

“I’ve got you, sugar. Everything’s good now,” he whispers, brushing his fingers through my hair.

“We both know that’s not true,” I cry, pulling away to meet his gaze.

“Everleigh, it is. I told you I’d protect you and I am. No way in hell will I let them get to you. Let them touch you again. Same goes with Carl, Sofie, and Everett. They now know the threat is still there and the club is gonna help them as well,” he says firm yet gingerly.

“I’m scared,” I admit.

“I know, baby, but I won’t let anything happen to you,” Daemon murmurs. He pulls away to meet my gaze and cups the side of my face. “Trust me to do that. And to keep you safe. I’ve got this, and you’ve nothing to worry about.”

Nothing to worry about? Is he insane? How can I not worry? I mean, all of this is happening because of my family. Honestly, I don’t know how they can stand to have me around them.

“Hendrick—”

“No, sugar, I mean it,” he interrupts me. “You have enough on your plate and don’t need this too. I’ve got this. The club’s got it.”

I nod reluctantly. I don’t agree full-heartedly, but I get it, and I do have enough to contend with.

Daemon leans in and kisses me. It starts out as just a chaste touch of our lips, but I open for him, and he takes that as his opening to deepen it further. As he leans into me, I fall back onto my pillow and wrap my arms around his neck. Last night, I’d gone to sleep in nothing more than one of his shirts that he reaches under to cup my breast, finding my nipple. I moan as he rolls the little bud between two fingers.

No words are needed between us as he fits himself between my thighs. This is good since he is still kissing me, and I loved the way he kisses me. His tongue dueling with mine.

The head of his cock hits my entrance and rubs along the slit, slipping through the juices before he sinks in an inch. Pulling away, he does this several more times before he finally slams home.

Everything from there becomes a blur of movement. Daemon takes me, showing me just how much I can trust him in all things.

“I love you,” I cry out as my release takes over, and I succumb to it, digging my nails into his back.

“Fuckin’ love you too, Everleigh,” he growls, joining me, his cock twitching inside my pussy.

I hold onto him, afraid that if I don’t it’ll all be over, and I won’t know which way to go. Though I know it’s silly. When it comes to Hendrick ‘Daemon’ Masons, he’s more than once proven he’ll do what’s needed to make things happen. He’ll also protect those he loves and cares about.

I also know that with him, I can face anything, including the demons that haunt me. He might not be a knight in shining armor, but he’s my Daemon. My husband. My man. My biker. And he’s everything to me. Him and his son. I can only hope the baby I carry now is another son for us to raise alongside Hendrik and turns out just as Daemon is.

EPILOGUE

DAEMON

The threat isn’t over yet and won’t be for the foreseeable future. What I know for sure is that I won’t let it touch my woman.

Not again.

This shit isn’t gonna get close to her again.

Since that day, Styxx and Scythe have both been working together to find out more about the Scarlet Needles. We now know that Everleigh’s uncle isn’t just a supporter, along with the others. He’s one of the top organizers right alongside Case’s parents.

They massively fucked with Everleigh’s head with the shit they pulled on her years ago.

According to the information my brothers have found out, it’s not pretty.

Right now, we’re sitting ducks, having to wait for the next hit to strike against us since they’ve all but disappeared on us. We all went back to the factory the next day and took a look around to see if there were any bodies, but there were none. Well, except for Everleigh’s mother. She was dead. That was one good thing. No more hearing that woman’s screeching, but I wish it were more than just her.

Regardless, I’ll do what’s needed to keep anything else coming our way from touching my woman.

I think the only good thing out this bullshit is that my woman now has Everett in her life. The club took the little family in under our protection and set them up in a new place where they can’t be easily found. Sofie and Carl sat down with Everleigh and me, and we’ve all agreed that Everett doesn’t need to know the truth, not now, maybe when he gets older. For now, he knows that Everleigh and I, along with the club, saved him and his dad and brought them back to his mom and little sister.

The way I see it, only so many things can go wrong before it goes right. It’s a cycle on repeat. One that hopefully we’ll be able to break. Something tells me, though, it won’t happen any time soon. Especially now. The reason for this is Scythe and Josephine. I’m not sure what’s about to go down with them, but being around Josephine as much as I have, I don’t think she’s about to let him have his way. Not without a fight. But I know my brother, and he’s not one for letting anything slip through his grasp.
