“Maybe,” Celia said thoughtfully. “I was waiting, because I understand, but I want to be with him.”

“Of course you do!” Erin leaned forward to pat her knee. “Don’t overthink things. He adores you.” She winked at her friend. “Introduce the man to his baby, so to speak.”

“You thought that idea was gross when I said it.” Katie laughed. “Don’t worry, Celia, everything will still work the same. Just take your time. Though…” She bit her lip, glancing at her cousin. “Did you ask the doctor about it?”

Celia shook her head. “Not yet.”

“Ask in front of Trent,” Erin recommended. “That way, you both hear the same thing. Nick couldn’t argue with me after that.” Jami expected her to smirk again, but Erin’s eyes became soft.

“How’s your shoulder?” Katie asked. “It’s been a few weeks without the sling now. Any pain?”

“None. Dr. Graham is amazing.” Erin shrugged, patting her good shoulder after. “Nick is worried, since my new job is about to start. I had to promise to take it easy for a little longer, but seriously, there hasn’t been even a twinge.”

“That’s great,” Katie said, draining her own hot cocoa.

“Stop worrying about me, Kay.” Erin smiled at her. “My life is pretty perfect at the moment.”

“I’d say.” Katie grunted as she shifted forward on the couch. “So, where is this epic honeymoon going to take you?”

“We’re not sure yet.” Erin tilted her head, as if considering. “I was talking places with Jami earlier. Nick says somewhere foreign, since I haven’t traveled much. At least outside of work.” Her lips pursed. “Where would you all go?”

Celia shook her head. “I’ve never been big on travel.”

“The tropical thing was amazing. Blake and I spent most of our time snorkeling and playing in the water.” Katie’s hand moved to her stomach as she flopped back again.

Erin snorted. “Sure, that’s where he played. Was it a nude beach?” She laughed at Katie’s glare. “But don’t get me wrong. Nick and I will be boinking like bunnies too.”

Jami wasn’t surprised by anything Erin said. Skylar wouldn’t have worried about over sharing, and Erin reminded her the most of her sister.

Erin turned her way, as if she felt Jami’s eyes on her. “What about you, chick? You never told me your ideal destination.”

“Scotland.” Jami was surprised when it slipped out so easily. “Well, the whole United Kingdom, I guess.” She had been tempted by her sister’s invitation to London. All the historical romance she’d preferred when she was younger had been set somewhere over there, though she’d had a particular love for the Highlander heroes.

“Interesting.” Erin nodded. “Have you told Malcolm yet? That hair of his would look awesome on some windswept hills.”

Jami blinked at her. “Malcolm and I aren’t like that. We’re not together.”

“And why not?” Katie asked. She shrugged when Jami stared at her. “I’ve seen the way my brother looks at you.” She pointed at Jami. “And don’t think I haven’t noticed you looking back! What’s stopping you?”

Jami’s eyes dropped to her lap. The cast caught her attention. It would be an excuse, though, not the real reason.

“When’s your cast come off, chick?” Erin asked, following her gaze. “It’s got to be soon.”

“A few more days,” Jami admitted.

Erin clapped her hands. “That’s perfect! You can jump him when you go home after.”

“I—” Jami’s eyes slanted toward Celia. They’d talked a lot about their pasts over the last few weeks. Jami had even shared some of her experiences with Andrew at group. Nothing about how he’d likely set the fire that killed her father and nothing about sex.

Celia patted her knee. “They’re not pressuring you, Jami. Do whatever feels right.”

“Oh, sorry, chick.” Erin grimaced. “I only said it because I thought you wanted to be with Malcolm. No biggie if the spark isn’t hot enough.”

“It’s not that.” Jami’s heartbeat sped up, just like it did any time Malcolm put his hands on her. “I already know it’ll be different from Andrew.”

Erin frowned. “Who the hell is Andrew?”

Jami’s throat tightened.
