“More.” The breathless voice didn’t even sound like her own.
“Christ, Jami,” Malcolm groaned, wrapping his arms tight around her as he rocked them together. Each downward motion of her body had the intense spiral inside her twisting up yet another impossible notch.
“Please,” she begged, reaching for the shimmering sensation that promised to shake her apart. “Please.”
“Fuck! I’m coming,” he growled. His face went slack as he cried out, his arms wrapping tightly around her.
Deep inside her, she felt his erection pulse. She sobbed as the spiral shattered, sending pleasure all the way to her fingertips. It was too much, and she buried her face in his hair. She let her mind drift free from her body, happy in that moment to just let go.
Malcolm collapsed back to the bed but didn’t loosen his hold on her. “Jami. My Jami,” he kept murmuring.
She might have passed out. When she next felt aware, there was a lack of tension anywhere in her body. She felt like a limp noodle. Malcolm was still joined to her, she realized, mystified by the fact that it made her feel so content.
“I don’t think I can again,” Jami mumbled.
Malcolm’s fingers danced across her back in soothing strokes. “Understandable.” He kissed her forehead, then her cheek and along her collarbone.
Jami’s body melted on top of his even as she shivered.
“Don’t tempt me, or I’ll never want to pull out.” His hands found hers where they rested limply against his chest. He moved them over his heart. They both felt his heartbeat, so steady beneath their hands. “You’re in here, Jami. You have been ever since high school, I think.”
Jami lifted her head, searching his eyes. “That can’t be. Not yet.”
His brows drew together. “You don’t want me to say the words?”
She pressed her face into his neck again to hide from the certainty in his gaze. “Wait just a little while longer?”
His breath shuddered, but his fingers danced across hers. He didn’t say anything else, just shifted his grip to her hips so that he could slowly pull out of her. They both trembled at the separation.
Malcolm rose to dispose of the condoms.
Jami curled around his pillow, unable to understand the strange sensation of vertigo messing with her stomach.
Malcolm pulled on a pair of shorts before pulling out a new T-shirt from his dresser.
Jami’s gaze slid over the cotton. She’d once imagined wearing her boyfriend’s shirt. Only the term didn’t seem quite right for what Malcolm was to her.
Malcolm studied her expression, a soft smile tilting his lips upward. He crossed to the bed, tugging the shirt over her head before letting it pool around her waist. He lowered her head to the pillow afterward, his hand brushing her hair behind her ear as he bent and kissed her cheek again. “Rest. I’ll make us some breakfast.”
Exhaustion dragged her under. Only the smell of his strawberry jam could pull her back from the black hole of sleep she’d disappeared into.
Malcolm chuckled when she struggled to sit up. He placed his body behind hers, his chest still bare and sexy, she vaguely noticed.
“I might have asked too much of you,” Malcolm murmured before scooping some of the jam with a fork and bringing it to her lips.
Jami took the offered bite, her chest tight as Malcolm continued to feed her.
When she’d had enough, she turned her face away from the fork. “Tired,” she mumbled. Apparently, more orgasms than she could count did a number on her.
The plate and fork clicked together as he set them on the nightstand. He tucked both their bodies beneath the covers, his hands hovering before wrapping around her as he spooned her from behind.
“This okay?” he whispered in her ear.
Jami managed a nod before her eyes slid shut again. Her body tumbled like it seemed to want to, straight into the most wonderful dream, one where she got to stay just like this forever.

MalcolmapologizedtoReggieon Monday for ignoring his text responses the day before. He was pretty sure he had the sappiest smile on when he admitted to taking a nap instead of meeting his friend to spar with him again.
