“I’ll find out in a minute when she lectures me on the way to church.”

“I thought she said poker.”

“She plays poker at church.”

I found my shirt and threw it back on and when I looked back at Cindy, she was still red in the face, but she was laughing.

“What’s so funny?”

“I can’t believe your mom just cock-blocked you,” she answered, biting her lip.

I strode over to the bed, angrily. “You think it’s funny letting me suffer like this?”

She didn’t play coy. She squeezed my aching dick and made me groan.

“I think it’s fucking funny that you’re about to drive your mom to church poker smelling like I just came on your face,” she teased.

I tackled her onto the bed and kissed her.

“I think it’s funny that you just tasted yourself on my tongue,” I retorted.

“You think it’s funny. I think it’s hot.”

The look in her eyes was pure evil and it sent a pang of lust coursing through my veins. I groaned loudly. It took every ounce of strength to pry myself off of Cindy Lawless. But before I did, I whispered in her ear.

“You better be right here waiting for me when I get back.”

She smirked as I made my way out the door. I heard her throw herself back onto the bed and I knew I’d find her, right where I left her, when I returned.

My mother was already waiting in the car for me, staring straight ahead, refusing to make eye contact with me. I was fine with that. I put the car in drive and pulled out onto the road.

“Luke, I know you’re a grown man and you’re entitled to a social life, but I really don’t want you bringing strange women to my house,” she said.

“Mom…”

“We don’t have to talk about it anymore.”

“That wasn’t a strange woman.”

“Oh?”

After a second, a wry smile appeared on her face.

We drove in silence for a few more minutes, but I knew my mother wasn’t ready to let it go yet.

“You could move out, you know,” she finally said.

I said nothing, and we both knew why. My mother was terrified of being left alone. After my father died and my siblings started moving out, she cried and begged me not to leave her too. At the time, I had just gotten divorced and had nowhere else to go, but as the years wore on, I dreamed of having a place of my own.

“You and Cindy could even look for a place together. That way you could do whatever you want to do… without interrupting my Dr. House,” she said.

“I’m sorry about that.”

“I could ask Edith Longford if her nephew is still renting that townhouse near Harbor Bluffs.”

“Mom, we both know that’s not going to happen, and we both know why.”

We reached the church and I pulled into the parking lot. I waited for her to get out, but she didn’t.
