“We need to head over to Estonia for a couple of days. You wanna come with?”
She wrinkled her nose. “And listen to you two beat people up all day. No thanks.”
“Tam’s going to take Hallie Wynter. The two of you can do girl stuff while we’re beating people up.”
“Poor Hallie,” she said. “She had a mental breakdown yet?”
I knew she was referencing that Hallie had got stuck with me. “She’s doing just fine,” I said, “and look how thoughtful I’m being, taking her with me on a job instead of abandoning her for days.”
“I’m sure she’d rather be abandoned.”
So did I, which was probably why I was keen to take her along.
“I bet she’ll appreciate having some girl time,” Leo said, keen to smooth over the friction.
“And what would Marlon Wynter have to say about you taking his daughter out of the country?”
I shrugged. “She’s not his responsibility anymore.”
“Okay, fine, let’s do it, but make sure the hotel has a pool and a bar.”
Leo pulled her in for a kiss. “Done.”
Chapter Ten

“WHOOPS!”
I climbed out of the London cab, wobbling as though I was wearing heels when I was only in a pair of slip-on Converse. I was a little drunk on champagne.
The London cab driver shook his head at me, and I slammed the door shut. The gates to Tam’s house loomed above me. I was going to have to press the buzzer to get in. Was he even home? I narrowed my eyes to peer through the bars. His car sat on the driveway, but that didn’t mean anything. Someone else might have picked him up.
I guessed there was only one way to find out. I hit the buzzer.
